[Here's Hizashi, firing off enthusiastic finger guns at the camera, once again. Honestly it doesn't really seem like he stops moving the whole video, as he talks as much with his hands as he does his mouth.]

Heeeeeeeeey there listeners! Hope everyone's hanging in there and keeping your noses out of trouble! Looks like there might be a little bit of an uptick in media attention thanks to this new popularity contest gig but that's not what I'm here to talk to you about!

Got a little problem I was hoping some more tech-inclined of you out there could solve for me! My Quirk's called Voice. [he pauses, pursing his lips and then leans in towards the screen.] You know, superpower or whatever it gets commonly called here. I've got crazy pitch and volume and all that jazz but it's hard to direct without causing serious damage unintentionally without my support gear!

[he inserts a shrug here, dramatic, exaggerated.] So what I'm looking for is someone who can help me out and fashion me something similar! Not really digging going through more traditional channels for this you dig? I've got rough sketches and can talk to you about what it needs to do.

[He flashes a couple of these sketches on the screen - he is clearly not an artist but they are at least usable - and he at least includes an actual photograph of the gear around his neck shown here.]

[Ironfist scratches his mouthplate in thought.]

So it's a sonic-based power, and you need something to control and direct the flow of your soundwaves? I think I can probably work something out for you. Is the volume something you can control yourself, or will we need to account for that as well?

[He's already punching some very preliminary work into a datapad as he talks. Ironfist's done some work in sonic-based weaponry before but after four million years of war there's precious little forms of weaponry he hasn't at least dabbled in.]

[You know what. He's just gotten to the point that talking to what he assumes is some sort of intelligent robot (?) is just kind of normal. So while he pauses initially, it's brief. Hardly a blip.]

Nah man! I've got controlling the volume and pitch and all that jazz down! Years of practice and getting used to my quirk made sure of that. It's just directing it that I need help with, due to the nature of sound waves. Kind of the difference between a controlled explosion and one that just radiates out wherever it feels like goin', you dig?

Don't wanna accidentally blow eardrums out or worse when I'm out doing the heroics thing.

[And a blip that goes entirely over Ironfist's head, as the robot is focused on his datapad. He nods along to Hizashi's voice.] Okay, that simplifies things a bit then. If you can send me those schematics you worked on I can get started on a prototype. Can you make it Jeopardy? That's where I'm set up and I'll need you on hand to make sure the device is calibrated to your, ah, quirk, to work properly. But yeah, this is eminently doable I think. We can discuss payment of some kind in person. [Honestly Ironfist still doesn't have the faintest idea about payment plans. His personal needs are minimal and currently being met thanks to the arrangement with Knock Out and it's really the work he craves anyway. But that's a problem for later.]

[He does look up momentarily when Hizashi says he doesn't want to blow out eardrums, then quickly back at the datapad and deletes a few of the previous lines of his work. He was getting ahead of himself again.] Good to know!

[Contact information then follows in text for Hizashi, both for sending the plans and for Ironfist's place of work; it appears to be a hangar of some kind.]

You got it, man, I'll send those off in a blip. [Well, he doesn't wanna blow out the eardrums of his allies. It's all about how the aiming happens, versus the strength and all that. BUT, more importantly he is sending off the sketches. They're nothing like schematics, really, but they're what he's got.]

Jeopardy's doable. When do you want me to come by? Now? [Hizashi does glance down at the watch on his wrist -- it's doable, honestly. But there's no sense in rushing things. He's not in a huge hurry, but he certainly would feel better, having SOMETHING on hand.]

Glorious. Thanks, I'll get started on this right away. [And here he was worried he wouldn't have anything to do this afternoon.]

No, no, give me a rotation to get a prototype together. Come by after lunch tomorrow and I'll have something for you to try out, and we can go from tere.

[vociferates]

You're a real lifesaver dude!

[He assumes rotation is some sort of way to say "day", and offers a thoughtful nod. That makes a lot more sense, even if it's still speedy in comparison to what he's used to.]

Sounds good to me. [he pauses, shifting his posture to point at the screen.] Before I forget, you got a name man? Feel like I should know that. Got your email and your address already, feels like we might have skipped a step!

Look, I'm not what you'd call an "engineer" but here me out, alright? Duct tape. Acoustic foam. Problem solved, my friend.

Duct tape solves a lot of problems dude, not denying you that. But I'm sure you'll understand when I say this is something next level.

How next level are we talkin' here? Like ... supercoolant nanotech next level? Or are we at like, "beer hat" next level? Because for the record? Second thing? Still pretty genius.

[vociferates]

Beer hat's kind of in a whole separate column you dig? Like, recreational.

This is more like... I don't wanna liquefy the brains of people I'm workin' with, with sonic waves, yeah?

Yeah, that's a real lousy way to go. I recommend not doing that if at all possible. Unless of course they really have it coming.

Heroics don't usually involve killing, man so yeah. That's definitely a goal.

Not the biggest fan of unnecessary property damage either.

You sure you don't want something more comfortable?

More comfortable? It's not as bad as it looks, yo!

[Wait a minute. This is Hizashi leaning in and squinting at the screen. The voice is familiar but the face?? Wait a minute. This guy...]

Woah dude, I knew there were some age shenanigans going on a bit back but woah!

Oh. Yeah.

[ "Shenanigans", they call it. More like "existential nightmare". ]

You're like, 20 years younger man, that's quite a change! Still sound like you though!

I'd hope so. Puberty was a while ago.

Can't have been that long ago, you don't look like you could be older than 25 dude. But I'll give you that.

Last thing I wanna do is deal with voice cracking and all that business all over again. You have any idea how much that sucks with a quirk like mine?

Did you destroy entire city blocks?

[vociferates]

Woah, luckily not. [he could now, but that's neither here nor there.] The school I went to had me training pretty hardcore before things got serious, but can't say I didn't wreck some ears... or windows...

[he waves his hands around like he's dismissing it entirely. Puberty was rough, childhood was worse, but hey that's in the past. And, he realizes complaining isn't doing him any good NOW. If he remembers correctly, he knows Ronan's dealt with worse.]

Foundations are easy enough to fix if you've got the right hands and quirks on hand anyway.

That's pretty cool. I mean, having a school that could train you for that stuff.

UA's not the only one, but it's the best at training upcoming heroes, yo! Didn't really expect it, but I wound up joining up to teach there too. Kinda weird to teach at your alma mater, but you know what?

I really dig seeing the kiddos grow into their quirks and going out as the next gen.

[ Ronan cannot imagine being able to stand any school enough to want to be there as an adult, too. ]
