[ ANONYMOUS ]

I have heard there are ways to suppress our powers.
How do you do that? Is there some sort of device or switch?

It's being worked on.

Why do you ask?

It's possible, but there's still a few problems in execution.

First, afaik we only have one at the moment. It was broken when we got it, and we're still trying to reverse engineer it to make a power nullifier... nullifier.

Second, the range of the device is kind of broad. So it wouldn't just nullify your powers, but those of other imports in your general vicinity too. I'm sure that can be fixed, my boss is a genius at this stuff, but idk how long that'll take.

Third, power nullifier tech is kinda serious business. Can you imagine the kind of power someone would have over other imPorts if the wrong person got their hands on it? Since I kind of don't want that to happen, ideally, you'd have to be able to bind the nullifier to the DNA of the specific person who wants it for themselves to circumvent that situation from occurring. But that kind of science is way beyond anything I know about, so really I have no idea if it can even be done. But I can ask around, if you want. I know some people who'll probably know.

[Please. As if anyone is hacking Skye's encryptions.]

Ew. No. I work for StarkTech. It's an imPort-run company focused on developing the tech of the future. I'm just a programmer though, so I don't know much about the actual engineering stuff.

I promise I'll look into it for you, though.

is your power somewhere near dangerous bomb territory?

Right now, the only consistent means is one employed for those in jail - it's a proximity to the Porter that allows that function to work. Other methods have been spotty.

[ including what she can't see Skye talking about - nullifiers in Colorado weren't foolproof. ]

Some people might be able to function that way. I'm not sure, without knowing what everyone can do.

[ hello, Kaneki, she'll just keep talking to mr. anonymous over here (or ms. anonymous, really). ]

Not ones that are blatantly out of control - dangerous to use unsupervised is different from something like that. Dangerous people have had their powers suppressed, but again, that's only close to the Porter, or within the holding facilities designated to handle imPort threats.

Talk to the Military, if you're Registered. Figure out anyone among the imPorts who may be able to help curb or control what's happening for you. You're very vague, so I can't offer specific advice. I'm sorry this is difficult for you.

If that's the case, then the technology exists. Why hasn't somebody tried to make it smaller and portable? They'd make a killing if they did.

A number of us were kidnapped in July and brought to a place where our temporary housing limited our powers. One month prior, we learned that the Soviet Union used power and life inhibiting devices to ensure that a group of imPorts on a mission remained dead.

It's highly likely that all nullifying technology is in some government's hands.

Probably not this one, at least to volunteer for others to use.

And they can, but do you really wanna test that? Though it sounds to me like they need us to be a consistent commodity.

Because they want us to HAVE our powers, of course. That's why.

And they inject us with these things that bring us back. It has to do with the tattoo.
