not 100% sure what's going on here but problem number one out of a million:
the delorean shrunk.
[No, that's not some strange euphemism -- this is Marty's first post to the network. And said post is totally very eloquent and not awkward at all. But really, who cares about eloquence at a time like this? A time when he can't get his brand-new, so-called "powers" outlined in his file to work properly.]
do these weird "powers" of ours work on command or what?
because I would like a car-sized car back
not a clown-sized car if at all possible.
[Okay. Does he sign off with his name? Does he just leave it at that? What do.]

well that's too bad.

It depends on the powers. Some powers you don't turn off - like you're always super-strong or self-healing or have a kinetic shield. Others set off automatically or else you choose to use them.
You want a better answer - then you'll have to share what your powers are, bro. But nobody I know is a human shrink ra- actually check that. I do know someone who could resize your car, but he's not here right now.
It's definitely not a dream.

they shrink when your power allows you to resize it?
I had to make it more compact to fit it through the door somehow
[Not to be taken literally. He basically means it arrived with him, and he had to make it more portable somehow in the transition from weird underground arrival to Heropa.]
now it's stuck like this; I can't reverse it.
[So signatures are a thing then? Why not.]

If I had something disposable to practice on, that'd be a good idea.
[But the DeLorean? Not sure he wants to use that as the source of an experiment. (Even if he really has no choice.)]

It's a car. [He says with the slightest lilt of what is more like "It's a car?", because maybe DeLoreans don't exist in this weird 2014 timeline?]

Some powers work on command, others are passive, at least in my experience.
It's the passive ones you have to watch out for.

[Honestly, if you would have told him he would be talking about real superpowers a few days ago -- well. He might have believed it, given everything he's experienced. But still. This is all too comic book-y.]

[ "was that naive optimism or subtle and deliberate douchebaggery?" a game played often with charles xavier ]
With that statement aside, it may very well depend on your powers -- and what they are.

All worldly possibilities considered, you're probably right. But this ranks high up on the list of weird things I've seen, and it's a pretty impressive list.
[As for his powers...] I'm supposed to be able to make the DeLorean bigger or more compact, and then there was something about time manipulation. Someone's idea of a joke probably. [He's more concerned about the former not wanting to work a second time more than he is the latter.]

no, I really need to fix this car if I can
[And then, because he can't help himself (and because apparently hovercars are a thing here and it wouldn't be weird to mention it):]
besides, the delorean hovers just as good as any of these old floating classics I'm seeing around here

I think you're a year early. But the good news is we have flying cars anyway. [ it is not 2015 yet, marty. ]
Depends on the powers, and how used to them you are. given that you just arrived, I'm guessing it's very low on the second. What did they give you, the ability to make your car bigger?
no subject
There's a pause after reading that first line. "A year early". That's rather... specific and out of the blue; but surely no one here would know about his little stint into 2015?]
a year early to what? [...seems to be the safe response. Though he is tempted to ask about Air Mags.]
don't forget about smaller, too
