Mmm. I've heard of reincarnation, sort of like that, but... I suppose the easy way to put it is, the returns I know aren't so quick.

Mm, well I think it simply depends. There may a varied return, but the Scalphunter was a bit of a unique case.

I was looking for him -- and he told me he had a vision of his past lives.

I thought it was curious, when he died, that he would talk of seeing me again, so I held out hope. After all, I'm immortal, who am I to say what is possible and what isn't?

Losing hope is much more dangerous, I think, than refraining from it.

I have all the time in the world, for hope. It was only a little over a hundred years.

That seems like a paltry period of time.

I suppose, for an immortal, time is cheap.

Less than pennies, if I can be honest.

It's difficult to think about it in the same way, honestly. I found that as the older I became, the less I understood the impatience of mortality.

Oh no. I was born human, and my powers didn't necessarily come with detailed instructions.

Well, I found out when someone attempted to kill me, and I laid bloody in the streets for hours before I found that it wasn't blood, but something else -- and I could pull myself together.
