[Tempo is in full robot form when she takes to the network today, though she's only keeping her head in frame.]
Hello, everyone! My name is Tempo, alias Quake Woman, if we haven't already met. Residents of Nonah have heard Mr. Gamagōri's announcement about the artificial crater that recently appeared near the city. As I was built for geological surveillance, I felt qualified to investigate the crater myself. Unfortunately, I was unable to find anything more substantive than what Mr. Gamagōri's preliminary investigation turned up. It was a man-made crater, and obviously the parties responsible are capable of a great deal of destructive force. I was unable to detect any blast residue, so I wouldn't worry about explosives specifically, but it is still troubling.
On what is I suppose a lighter note, despite being made of technology, I am disappointingly unfamiliar with video games. I've been told there are several genres, but I'm only aware of two—racing games and role-playing games. I am looking for other possible recommendations that you may think I'd enjoy, or that you enjoy personally. If there is a genre where cheating is impossible, I would be especially interested in that for personal reasons.
Thank you for your time.

Try co-op games? They span all genres. It'll at least prevent them from continuously backstabbing you out of the desire to win when success depends on both of you. Not sure if I would recommend fighting games - it's not so much cheating as there is the possibility for cheap shots there.
As for recommendations...horror is fun with friends. Especially if you pass the controls over every time someone dies.

I do like the idea of playing a horror game with a friend. Given some things Hazel has experienced, it might not be as effective as desired, but it would still be fun. I admit, I did a little research before coming to the network. Apparently there are people who are famous on the internet for reacting to horror games?

Horror is one of those subjective things. It's hard to find a balance that everyone will enjoy. But it is more amusing if you're the only one not scared. The rest is up to your choices.
Ah, yes, that's a thing. Some people make quite a lot of money off it, even. I'm not sure how, but to each their own.

You sound like you have a lot of experience with this. I'd still need to ask Hazel, but would you be interested in joining us when we play video games? I wouldn't want you to be without that entertainment you got from arcades, and this would cost less.

My teammates enjoy different kinds of video games, so I'm well versed. I've found myself missing our game nights. [ And by 'game nights' he means 'everyone sitting in one place avidly fixed on one screen for one reason or another', and possibly yelling at the screen or each other. ] If Hazel is amenable, I certainly wouldn't mind. [ This is Magicman, realising he's spending most of his time here running after someone else here, and recreational activity is a precious commodity. Whoops. ]

I'll talk to her. I'm not sure how effective her inevitable cheating will be, though, honestly. I mean, we're more advanced technology than the consoles. How hard could the games be to perfect? ★~(◠‿◕✿)
All right, that one may have been a little too elaborate.

You'd be surprised, depending on the kind of game. But we'll see what gets chosen. Does Hazel have any particular favourites, or is it just 'games she can cheat on' so far?
wwwwwww ヽ(´ー`)ノ You're getting a grip on emoji usage, at least.

We can only hope she didn't get affected by the generator, I suppose. There's enough children around here as it is.

Have you ever played any rhythm games?

I'm... not familiar, no. Is the "revolution" part related to revolving or revolting?

[The idea that someone with that kind of power could set it off on accident is frightening, much more so than someone who'd only do it on purpose. At least the latter would have complete control over it.]
As for games...there's virtual board games, but I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for.

Virtual board games? Like Monopoly, or—like most things—is it more complicated than that?
Permavoice
I guess that depends on how you define board games. There's virtual versions of ones like Monopoly and chess, but also things like Diplomacy and games based on Pictionary. Trivia games, too.

[On the one hand, it would at least have been brought up by dad if they'd actually managed it. On the other, he does have four months of missing time he never got a chance to catch up on. Stupid Porter.]

[should she really be this excited? well, yeah. this is awesome.]
Anyway, these electronic board games—they're mostly things that people like us would be optimized for, then? I might have to convince Hazel to play one so I can actually win something. It's incredibly difficult to cheat at something that's been solved. ...She'd probably find a way.

I suppose we are! Never thought about it like that. Anyway, I can't really think of a way for someone to cheat at a virtual board game. They can't switch pieces around when you're not looking and the ones I'm used to don't allow illegal moves. I mean, I guess they could hack it or something...
