Hi. It's Kitty.
[ She gives an awkward little wave to the camera. She feels ridiculously uncomfortable posting about this right now, and it shows; she looks anxious and displeased. But - ]
I know there was a bit of talk of having a birthday party for me today, but it's been cancelled. For...rather obvious reasons. So just - if you were going to come, do stay home. [ Then, with a quick attempt at some comforting levity: ] Spend the time you would have at my party finding a good cause, and then when all of this is over with, volunteer with them.
[ Okay. Her attempt at a smile fades, and then she continues on: ]
Anyway. That's not...quite it. There've been a few people who've gone. Simon Newton, for one, and John Mitchell. And just recently, John Mandrake. [ This last...She does not look happy about that. ] And I know sometimes people come back without memories, so if you find them back, and they've forgotten something, please let me know. I think - they might not know to contact me, if they lose memories, so I'd like to know if they return.
[ Translation: "Mandrake was my blood enemy, but now we're friends, and won't it just be my luck if he comes back forgetting that second part."
Her next attempt to shake off her gloom looks like almost a physical effort. She just about twitches like a cat shifting its attention. ]
Anyway. While we're avoiding getting each other ill, why don't we do something to keep our spirits up? Has anyone read those books about the vampires falling in love? Billy gave me one, and they are bloody ghastly, aren't they? So, go on, then, tell me about the absolute worst book you've ever read.

So you think he was a murderer, then.
video;
It should be obvious that our sweet Simon wasn't entirely the most...mentally stable. He might have been coerced, he might have been under an influence, but I think he did it.
video;
No. He was constantly being tricked and abused by the people around him. They obviously just wanted him to believe that he'd do something like that, too.

video;
Yeah, you think everyone's down there in the muck with you. But I've got news, friend: in every single world, there are more good people than bad. And Simon was definitely in the former category.

video;
No. People will sometimes have their compasses, their morals, all twisted around by the circumstances they're in, and that'll make them lost. I'll allow that. But doing something really, truly terrible? There are very few people who would do something really terrible. And the people who do are either mad or in truly horrid circumstances.

[ Dorian Gray & Kitty Jones, two seconds away from yelling at the other..... ]

What a self-indulgent statement from a self-indulgent boy. You've got a tendency towards violence, so you say everyone else has got one too, because everyone feels safer following the herd. You defend yourself by surrounding yourself with people worse than you are, so programmed you're not even able to realize that people are perfectly capable of breaking away from all of it with just a little patience and courage.

I'm nineteen, as of today, thanks, and I know quite a lot. I've been fighting in a rebellion for six years now. Probably more hands-on experience than you have.
And honestly, cynics like you? You're the ones who don't know anything about the world. You close your eyes to the good that people do so that you can have an easy description of the world and of humanity: it's rotten, people are rotten. The truth is that the picture is complicated, and requires a delicate understanding, not cheap disbelief.
