hey, i know this is a chaotic time right now. if you have a moment, i'm interested in hearing what you think.

does anyone know what happens if you've been infected with a virus of any kind here and are suddenly sent home? i'm okay, thankfully. my friends from home have disappeared and have presumably returned there, which got me thinking about it in the first place.

i guess that might change the course of your fate, especially when it's not uncommon that timelines don't match up with other people from your worlds.

sorry for the kind of morbid thought. can't really be helped here. i was just wondering.

i'm not a scientist or a doctor, but i believe i'm immune at this point. please let me know if you need any help.

From what I have seen and heard in my few months here, there is a kind of wipe that happens upon returning home. No memories of this place, and no loss of time from the moment you left your world.

I doubt your friends will be ill if they have returned to your home.

also super lame but also awesome ???

I understand. It can make things seem-- [ Excuse a moment, there's a bout of grunting on her end and the dull thud of metal on something. And then chafing against concrete. The next grunt seems more like momentum in movement than anything more physical. ]

-- Things can seem less important here. Or at least it has been a thought that has crossed my own mind. This world is strange, at best for it's lack of .. continuity concerning our own homes.

Yeah, there's a definite chance that we're completely "wiped" by a higher power of some kind, so we're probably in the clear.

But I don't know if anything like this has happened before. "Local historians" like Kanaya might have a better answer.
selfequipped: (okay. okay let's take this slowly.)

Or however it works. There may be some time-space continuum whackiness playing into it. We don't really know.

Maaaaaybe, but there's so little we know because any powers that may grant us the answer are stripped away.

Did I tell you before that I've traveled the multiverse? It's a little frustrating to see that go down the drain. For obvious reasons.

The multiversal stuff is mostly just really annoying.

No one wants to meet themselves.

Oh, time travel is a whole different bag of worms.

Multiverse is literally someone else living a different life. Could be you. Could also ... be an unrecognizable version of you with fangs.

It's been known to happen.

I really hope all of this is just erased when we get sent back my world has enough of crap like this. There doesn't seem to be a way to be completely sure but based on information of people who have come and gone it seems like we do just get reset.

It wouldn't change much for my world. For most though it'd make a pretty huge mess. I think for now it's probably better to just assume anyone that goes home gets completely reset

and there's no point in worrying about it when we can't do anything about it.

I've seen a lot of really bad things in my world. We lost an entire station and several colonies to something sort of like a zombie virus.

no it isn't unfamiliar at all. actually it's a lot better than what I experienced.

[ Usually she wouldn't be so depressing and upfront about how something could get worse but this has her a little shaken so she's more blunt. ] Everyone being dead and then coming back as some mutated unrecognizable form of themselves to kill you. That's how it could be worse.

I'm trying to be a little grateful that the situation isn't that at leas.t

I'm trying to be. It makes it vaguely easier.

Horrible describes most of my world. I'm sorry about your friends that have gone home. At least they're missing this.

I think no horrible disease is a pretty big up. as long as there isn't something shitty to replace it.

People's injuries are healed when they come here, and I think it must be true in reverse, too. That would just make sense, wouldn't it?

No - you REALLY oughtn't. It's a really, really, really good question. And I'm glad you've asked it.
rathercommon: (attentive)

With good reason. It sounds as though this disease can completely destroy a world unprepared for it.

Yeah...I didn't even think this was possible. Which was REALLY stupid, honestly - I knew about this disease, and knew that a few people had it dormant. We ought to have taken SOME steps to make sure it didn't spread...
