[He's still disoriented and sick when the jeep drops him off in front of what is apparently his new house and Sam isn't sure if he's hallucinating or not but it seriously looks like the damned thing is hovering and not driving. Which shouldn't be possible, but in the span of the last few hours, his entire world has been ripped away and turned on it's ear.

Heropa needs you, Mr. Winchester. America needs you.

Sam had tried, in vain, to explain to them that giving him powers was a monumentally bad idea, but no one seemed to listen to his protests as he was shuttled to and fro and had a file shoved under his nose.

His head is spinning, his legs feel like they're about to give out and it's a damned good thing there's a bench nearby because it would have been that or simply faceplant on the concrete and he's pretty sure heroes don't pass out.

So he flips on the device he'd been handed, giving Heropa a good look at a very pale, very worn down looking young man.] Hey, so I've already been given the basics but not the why. Why us? Why powers?

[Wearily he scrubs at his face before deciding to backtrack.] Let me guess, no one knows that either. Okay. So how about something more basic? Like is there a hospital or healer around here? I don't think they really need a hero that's going to pass out after climbing a flight of freaking stairs.

I got enhanced eyesight, so I am literally hawkeyed. So for a couple of weeks I couldn't figure out my short and long vision . . . which kinda resulted in me stumbling on the stairs or hitting my head on signs.

[The cool eases his fever and Sam rubs at his forehead with a faint smile.] Yeah, sounds like they haven't really given anyone a 'how to' with the powers. But you were able to get a handle on it?

[ Carl doesn't like the cold that often, so he's honestly glad he doesn't have Sam's power. ]

Eventually, after enough bruising. Turns out I can share this eyesight with others just by touching them with my hands, but I haven't really tested that part out that often.

[The cold is a reminder of something he'd rather not think about, but in the Florida heat it's actually serving a bit of a purpose.] Yeah. I can imagine that most people wouldn't want to wind up crashing into things. How did you get a hold of yours? How to use them, I mean?

Opening one eye and closing the other, for starters. Throwing things helps too, I can measure where it might land.

Mostly it's just trial and error.

Makes sense. I just don't want anyone to get hurt, you know? Are there any less populated areas, or places to practice? I don't want to accidentally call up a blizzard or something in the middle of the city.

[Not that the sudden cool might not be all that unpleasant in Florida, but he doesn't think they're terribly equipped for a snowstorm either.]

Man, I dunno. I haven't gone to any woods if that is what you are talking - my powers don't really need me to be alone to learn working. In Maurita Falls I've seen some abandoned buildings in the poorer areas, but that's not an entirely safe place to really practice.

The only good place that I can think of is that Xavier's School for imPorts has a class for Power Control. It's for minors, but I think it might help? At least point you in the right direction.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot. [He may feel like utter hell, but he can take note of locations that might give him some help. So far the cold hasn't gotten wildly out of control, but he doesn't want to take any chances. People needed to be safe.] Have you been here long?

About little more than six months, I think.

I'd ask if any of this starts to make more sense, but I get the feeling that's gonna be a loaded question.

Well, it doesn't. I don't try to pretend it makes any sense, or even try to make any sense of it. I just find it easier to just survive it.
