001 First Trial [Video/action]
[He's still disoriented and sick when the jeep drops him off in front of what is apparently his new house and Sam isn't sure if he's hallucinating or not but it seriously looks like the damned thing is hovering and not driving. Which shouldn't be possible, but in the span of the last few hours, his entire world has been ripped away and turned on it's ear.
Heropa needs you, Mr. Winchester. America needs you.
Sam had tried, in vain, to explain to them that giving him powers was a monumentally bad idea, but no one seemed to listen to his protests as he was shuttled to and fro and had a file shoved under his nose.
His head is spinning, his legs feel like they're about to give out and it's a damned good thing there's a bench nearby because it would have been that or simply faceplant on the concrete and he's pretty sure heroes don't pass out.
So he flips on the device he'd been handed, giving Heropa a good look at a very pale, very worn down looking young man.] Hey, so I've already been given the basics but not the why. Why us? Why powers?
[Wearily he scrubs at his face before deciding to backtrack.] Let me guess, no one knows that either. Okay. So how about something more basic? Like is there a hospital or healer around here? I don't think they really need a hero that's going to pass out after climbing a flight of freaking stairs.

I'm not a healer or a doctor. The most I could offer in terms of assistance is lab work. I work in imPort cellular research, and while I have no doubt we would be able to figure out the root of your problem and come up with a solution, I don't think you're in a position that awards you that sort of time.
What happened to you?

Back home I was undergoing a set of trials, we were going to close the gates of Hell forever. Lock up every demon on Earth. The tablet we were working from just didn't mention that it was going to turn me into a giant conduit, that the power would have to channel through me to close the gates.
[And very likely kill him in the process. But he'd have finally set things right.]

To close a gateway to another dimension must take tremendous power. [ And from the sound of it, multiple powers. ] And for you to take all of that within yourself...
[ Forget bad shape. He should be dead if he was any ordinary person. So the question remains -- what exactly is he? ]
It says a lot about your strength of will that you survived [ barely ] at all.
[ Raina's expression warms. ]
If that isn't the true definition of hero, I don't know what is.

I guess it doesn't matter now. [Because he's here, there are no gates to Hell and no final trial for him to complete. It's maddening. He'd been so close, so close to setting things right.]

I believe that you were. Even if not back home, then here in this world. No one can convince me that we weren't chosen for a reason. And maybe yours is so that you could keep living on with your brother.

Dean is. I think. I'm not sure what he remembers from home and what he doesn't. [A faint smile.] I might even be older this time.

The differences can only be negligible, though. I've seen Dean in videos. You two can't be more than a few years apart.

That fondness you two have for each other is so endearing. I'm almost envious.
[ She looks away and shakes her head slowly. ]
No. I'm completely alone.
[ And the sad thing is that's completely true. Not just of this world -- but her life in general. No family, no friends. No one. ]

[And Sam knows what that's like, to feel completely isolated. He can't help but empathize. He can barely keep on his feet, but he still wants to try and reach out.] Doesn't have to stay that way.

Are you offering to become a part of my life?
[ Then Raina offers a teasing smile. ]
Get yourself healed first, and then you can take me on a date.
