[Harry has been mulling over the government announcement since yesterday, and becomes more and more certain things never actually do settle down around here. He's glad he had the foresight to register, though beyond the mark on his wrist, it means nothing to him.

What's more important is casting out feelers on the Network on another rare occasion, to gauge reactions, and who to keep his eye on.]

I've found that some things manage to stay consistent between at least my own world and this one. The sky is blue, water is wet, and America spins morally divisive federal action in the most saccharine way possible.

[A small testy sigh, that doesn't betray the heavier one he breathed out after reading the announcement.]

But perhaps political discussion is a bit gauche when I mean to talk business. Lillian, Miss Sabriel, your suits are ready to be picked up or delivered at your earliest convenience.

Well, I did attend a school for 'young ladies of quality'. [Although one that put studying combat and sorcery on the same level as learning etiquette.]

Still, I think it's less deliberate malice, and more that they don't really understand imPorts.

I've picked up a few orders from the locals, actually. They seem to think it a novelty to have an imPort modify their clothes. [It's not as if the materials are different, and labor is hardly a souvenir, but best not to complain.]

[Harry tends not to let it bother him, but after hearing aging Floridians poorly imitate their accent, a more posh voice is welcome to his ears. More things he never thought he'd say until he got here.]

In the past, yes, though sugar coating is something they've perfected up to the present. Usually in regards to wars.

I haven't met anyone who would, either, but I doubt they'd implement such a measure without some assurance of success. Relying on our vindictiveness, perhaps.

The Porter isn't going anywhere. Therefore, neither are their social guinea pigs, at least not en masse. They have all the time in the world to think of more ways to curb their vigilante problem.

Bad things tend to happen here. Often. Calamities, political disasters - I've seen both in the time I've been here. It seems like things will only get worse now that we're being turned upon one another. ( at least, that's what she views the new announcement as doing. it was an old trick - you want to divide groups that have the most in common. )
