Aa, hey-- Nonah folks on here? If you here some bangs that are definitely not guns, that'll probably be bottle rockets in mailboxes? I caught a couple kids a block or so from the brown line lighting them up...uh, and apparently they're in a competition with some other kids from another school?

I didn't catch where; one of the moms showed up and...well, that was pretty much that. [sigh. and you don't really intervene in mom law when you're the stranger.

after a beat:] But, but if you're not the sort who'd know the difference between a gunshot and a mailbox getting blasted out, then you should treat it as something worse anyway! But maybe don't panic right away...

Is this kind of a thing? I mean, I'm getting the fireworks thing well enough, but I've not heard it's a thing to let kids run around with the stuff. That part's a little...I dunno.

It's a thing if you're a little punk that doesn't have anything better to do. They're prob'ly bored and y'know, explosions are always fun. Good times for everyone. [ At least that one was a touch sarcastic. ]

I'm still a bit shocked... Ah, that is, because it's kind of different than what I'd expect. Back home, you'd maybe hear about this once before the rest of the neighborhood was fully ready and willing to nip that stuff in the bud... [a weak puff of a laugh.] One big bang and then every mom on the block after you with a switch, basically...

A few explosions aren't gonna get anyone around here all that fired up. With all the things they go on about on the network here? [ He gives his head a shake, ] There's no way. People aren't worried about a few mailbox bombs.

That's pretty fair, huh...I mean, for most folks, if it doesn't really directly affect you, then... [a thoughtful noise through his nose.] Still, I know there's a few people here that are interested in being involved in the community, so hopefully the head's up helps.

Almost, but close enough it seems? I did here there'd be a bunch of fireworks here and there, but I didn't think it was so easy for kids to get a hold of them.
