Aa, hey-- Nonah folks on here? If you here some bangs that are definitely not guns, that'll probably be bottle rockets in mailboxes? I caught a couple kids a block or so from the brown line lighting them up...uh, and apparently they're in a competition with some other kids from another school?

I didn't catch where; one of the moms showed up and...well, that was pretty much that. [sigh. and you don't really intervene in mom law when you're the stranger.

after a beat:] But, but if you're not the sort who'd know the difference between a gunshot and a mailbox getting blasted out, then you should treat it as something worse anyway! But maybe don't panic right away...

Is this kind of a thing? I mean, I'm getting the fireworks thing well enough, but I've not heard it's a thing to let kids run around with the stuff. That part's a little...I dunno.

Sure, but...I mean. That's the weird thing, I think...that there's a lot in common, from what I've seen. [mmm...] That is, I don't know what the Earth in my universe is like, not personally, but people sure seem to act alike from all the ones I've been on.

No, ah-- I mean, humans originate there, and I'm certainly one of them, but it's been a long time since people left to find new places to live. I was born on a planet called Tobito.

Ah. Where I come from, humans haven't abandoned their homeworld.

Mm...I haven't heard a whole lot about how everyone's worlds are, but that's the one I heard the most of so far. And even here, I was shocked! Nobody's gotten past the moon...I guess that means things aren't so bad as to leave. [yet.]

Or they lack the technology to do so.

That's just it-- isn't it really strange how completely...[ehhhh words uhh--] choppy? Technology is here? [...................what] I mean! In that there's already plenty of the components you'd expect from a society used to commuting from planet to planet, but...in some ways, really not?

To me, anyway...It's always bugged me.

I don't know that I've seen technology on the scale of comm-buoys.

Communications buoys. They allow for communications between star systems.

[a thinking sound.] They might be called something different where I'm from...I mean, it's gotta be. Because folks can still talk to each other from planet to planet, and so on, so...!

That would make the most sense. The technology is the same, on different.

That brings the number of people I know familiar with technology that high-end to... [uhhhhh--] Three? There's Kaidan, there's Jacob...[uhhh] The Hamadas might count, but only for some things...mmm...
