Video : second verse, same as the first

[The feed comes on to a slightly wan looking Sam, back at the hospital again. But he’s in better shape than he was the first time he’d arrived in Heropa. No trying to play through the pain, no trying to tell everyone he was just fine. Nope. This time he’d sucked it up and stayed in the freaking hospital until the nanites.. or whatever they were, did their job and put his busted ass back together again.]

Hey, guess I’m back for round two, or something like that. I’m not even sure how long I’ve been gone. Dean? If you’re still here, I need to talk to you. Soon.

[Sam braces his hand on the side of the bed, trying to lever himself into a more comfortable position and instead, the metal crumples beneath his hand. He winces and surveys the damage.] Damnit. Just when I was getting used to the whole Frozen thing.

Super strength! I always liked that one, but what you got the first time was better. There's just something about psychic powers...

[ He is not talking about Sam's frozen abilities. Not at all. ]

Which room are you in? [Dean's looking a little worse for wear himself, and even though he's excited to see Sam again, it's been a rough week without him. He's pretty damn sick of the Porter giving him his brother and taking him away over and over, but at least Sam seems like he remembers being here this time..]

[At least he's in one piece and hasn't done anything completely insane while he's been gone. However long that's been. He'll scroll through the network later and see what he might have missed.] I'm in 310, set for discharge in a couple hours.

[Sam doesn't care for the reminder of being possessed either. But at least he's his own air conditioner? He pulls a sour face at Lucifer.] I didn't like them the first time around. Glad to be rid of them. [Because with premonitions also came killer headaches.]

Guess you wound up with the same problem? I have to be careful with everything, I feel like it's all made out of glass. One wrong move and smash.

Well, they did come with a price. It was hard to keep all that demon blood down, hm, Sammy? And now, I suppose, it's a little late for a relapse.

How are you feeling there? Shiny and new yet? Because you look awful.

I'm fine. [And even if he wasn't, Sam knows how to play through the pain. He's going to be just fine. Mention of the blood just gets a scowl.]

And whatever power I got from the demon blood it's either dormant or burned away.

Hard for it to survive that kind of purification ritual.

[ He'd picked it up that very first day, in the hospital. Clean. Shiny new Sammy, no good for demon munching archangels at all. ]

And when I go back, I'm going to finish what I started and close the gates to Hell. Permanently.

[Even if it kills him.]

Of course you will. I know you'll do your best, at least.

[ He sits forward. ] Did I mention that I love your family? You're so fantastically violent.

[ Hm, now how is that relevant. Have to wonder. It's definitely off topic. ]

[Dean. What the hell were you up to? Sam rubs at his face. Safer to do that instead of accidentally breaking the bed again.]

Could say the same for yours. It makes you wonder if it's a nature versus nurture thing.

[ Exactly. What was Dean up to. There's a reason why his church is closed for repair. Fortunately it's Miami, so a service on the beach is just as easy to arrange. ]

Both. Our Father made us that way. He created soldiers, and so did yours.

[ When Sam had disappeared, Raina was at a complete loss. Lucifer had become a gnawing concern in both hers and Chilton's lives -- so to see the man back, Raina doesn't even hesitate. ]

I need to see you at your earliest convenience.

Okay. I'm heading home soon.

What happened? What did we miss?

So much, Sam. So much has happened in the past few days.

[ An agonized pause. ]

I'm being blackmailed into signing a contract with Lucifer. I haven't yet signed, I have time to consider and...with any luck find a way out. But I would much rather tell you the details in person.

What? Don't sign.[Clearly a position Sam has been in before] I'll be at the hospital for a few more hours. Meet me there.

voice; private --> action?

I'll see you shortly.

[ And Raina isn't lying. She grabs her purse and leaves immediately. Sam has dealt with this magnitude of a threat before. Sam will know what to do. And perhaps, through Sam, she and Chilton could earn protection from Dean as well.

She arrives at the hospital, asks for Sam's room, and then immediately heads there. And when she sees him, her brows furrow, she lets out a relieved breath and immediately goes over to close the distance between them -- embracing him with a mix of relief and anxiety. ]

How are you feeling?

[hunter_returns]

[Sam looks up as Raina makes her way in, returning the hug when it's delivered. He pulls away with a concerned expression.] I'm okay. Better than the first time.

Talk to me, what's going on with Lucifer? What does he want?

[flowerette]

[ Her expression crumbles and she takes a step back to settle into the guest chair. ]

My boyfriend. Lucifer wants my boyfriend. Frederick Chilton, if you remember with the rings. He housed pestilence entirely against his will. Lucifer has taken an interest in him and will not back down. He nearly lured Frederick into signing a contract, and I argued with Frederick not to sign it.

And then Lucifer found out about my interference and grew upset. He offered me the chance to sign in Frederick's place, and if I don't -- he will destroy our relationship and inevitably kill Frederick. But if I do sign, he will leave him be.

I don't....I don't know what to do. I need to do what I can to save Frederick, but at the cost of my freedom? At the cost of Lucifer's terms? It seems no matter what I choose to do, I lose something important...
