So it occurs to me that there are different forces at work here, among even the imPort population. I confess to have no real understanding of these political intricacies, but feel as though it's important to remain aware of the influences permeating our own subculture of sorts. So far RISE and the Justice League have been spoken of in passing, but what are these organizations and are there any others? An overview would be appreciated.

I feel I should also express my thanks to those that met with myself and my colleague last month before the swear-in, as well as to those that assisted us during the event itself. We are most grateful. We've decided to take employment at StarkTech for the time being, where we'll be heading up a new biotechnological division.

And this is why I despise politics.

Yeah well unfortunately we're kind of stuck with them. You did see the last swear in right?

I had the misfortune to be present.

Well there you go. We're kind of involved in their politics just by existing

[woops, he meant the swear-in before, because to him that's the only one that matters. but oh well, it doesn't really matter]

Of course we are. All distracting from the larger issues, of course. Well if that's how they're going to be.

So what do you figure the larger issues are?

Getting back to our own dimensions, first of all. Secondly, this world should be preparing for a much larger scale war, rather than quibbling about communism and capitalism in a conflict that should have long ended.

That first one is pretty important to us but

What do you mean, a bigger war?

It's getting exhausting, repeating the same story over again, so forgive the lack of detail.

But there were abominations that came to my world through a trans-dimensional rift. Our Earth wasn't the first world they attempted to conquer, and so it's entirely possible they could appear here as well.

[Follow us here, because the Kaiju have reason to hunt them now, and they'd drifted.]

It was twelve years and a considerable amount of the Earth's resources before we were just barely able to destroy the rift they came from. The world was on the verge of an apocalypse.

Whether in a month or a hundred years, precautions should be taken, and I intend to say as much once I've compiled my data.

You could always write a guide to link to people. A friend of mine who came from a world with threats kind of like that did.

If they listen to all of us there's going to be an awful lot of threats to defend against. Not saying they shouldn't! There's just a lot to keep in mind

I don't hold any real hope of being taken seriously, but I will endeavour to call for caution all the same.

Perhaps I should compile all the information for reference. I'd be interested in inter-dimensional threats from other worlds, so perhaps an information exchange at some point would be largely beneficial.

A disease from another imPort's world got carried over here once already. It's possible that any threat from any of our worlds could get ported in. I think they might take you more seriously than you think

That would be a welcome change, but people get rather tired of doomsday prophecies until they're facing extinction. But perhaps we'll have compiled solutions by then, last minute though such things may be.

It's worth at least having a plan.

Though I mean their plan for those sorts of things might just be having us around

Yes, I must say this world is considerably more equipped to deal with such threats than my world was. We won't be bombing coastlines this time, at least.

So what sort of preparations would you suggest people make anyway?

Sensors on the ocean floor to start with. I could obtain a comprehensive report on the Kaiju themselves for tactical use. Establish emergency response evacuations and procedures in the case of such an attack. A lot of work for an uncertain future, but nothing that would cost too much. These measures would go a long way to greatly reducing the number of casualties in such an event.

That doesn't seem so hard. Would the emergency evacuations be that different from one in case of a nuclear attack? If you can lump them together I bet the government would be a lot more willing to listen. They're already worried about nukes anyway
