[There's a bit of rustling at first as he adjusts the phone, but then once he is sure video works, Chad's voice actually comes through very clear and is accompanied by an easy-going smile on his face. He's sitting on the bed in his room in residence #033, balancing a basketball with one hand, because his priorities mean that he hasn't yet figured most things out or even bothered to read up on a lot of what's available, but he's gotten a basketball. What a great hero.]

I kinda grew up reading superhero comics and all, so actually getting to be one is pretty cool in theory. A heads up would have been nice, but at least I didn't have to have my own tragic origin story, that's cool.

But the real problem here is and there's no way to word this well... How do I keep my underwear from ripping, smoking or, y'know, actually bursting into flames? Not that it's done so just yet, but my girlfriend's good at physics. I know what friction can do.

[There really was no way to word this well. However, Chad has definitely found the worst way to word it. Especially since he forgets mentioning that he is asking because one of his power is superspeed. Oops.]

Nah, it's fine, [she waves it off.] I don't actually think anyone knows, they're... well. They're invisible when they're outside a person. They need to possess us in order to physically exist in our world, if that makes sense.

Yeah, I guess I can see how that works. [In a very weird movie-ish kind of way, but alright. He can roll with that. Has to.] ...I'm guessing he's not a nice guy, your demon?

No, he's really not. [she's pressing her lips a little awkwardly.] You'll be lucky if you never have to meet him, to be honest.

Yeah... But I am glad I met you, if that's alright. [What a charming smile to go with that.] If you ever want a voice that's not just in your head, we should hang out.

Well. Demons freak me out. You, not so much. And we're all supposed to be on the same team or something, if I understand this right.

Yeah, I guess we are. But that doesn't mean everybody's willing to be as understanding as you.

Sometimes it takes a while to get used to things, I guess. Especially things that are out there.

...I learned that last year, though that issue really seems even more ridiculous now, compared to your demon thing.

The world could benefit from learning that same thing.

[She should know. She was practically chased out of her hometown for having the thing in her head.]

Too many idiots in the world, I'm afraid. Though, y'know, I could imagine if my best friend got here his power would be something like spreading understanding. Possibly through a musical number.

...well, he's not supposed to be, but he kinda started being into musical, starred in one in our school. Guess he likes singing.

Still good at basketball though.
