Capsule 006 💊 (Video) [Locked from Tetsuo]

[It's late at night, well past 11pm when the feed clicks on. At first it doesn't look like anything, a bunch of blackness with one bright light in the distance. It looks like a lamppost...or what's left of one. It seems to have been literally broken in half by impact alone, the metal completely snapped instead of bent, the upper half lying on the sidewalk and facing up. Sparks fly from the base of it, the cord obviously cut there when it was snapped. Whatever hit it...well, it had to be going at an incredible speed.

But the feed turns, towards a closer, brighter lamppost that seems to be intact, Kaneda sitting in front of it on the sidewalk.

Well, you look like you've seen better days, buddy.

He doesn't say anything at first, more so trying to catch his breath as a hand reaches up to his head. Face contorting into a wince as his fingers rake through his hair. When his gloved hand comes out, he looks at it as if he just found a gross bug.

Blood. Even better.]

Dammit.

[Whatever mirth he had in his voice earlier that night from the comm is gone, and the glitter in his eyes is lost. Oh yeah, he was recording, wasn't he. Those eyes turn towards the screen, away from the broken lamppost that he was seemingly fixated on. His voice is low, and some of his words are a little slurred as he tries to make a coherent sentence.]

Don't care who it is, but I need a healer. Or a way back.

[He's not too far from the house, but walking is just not happening.]

What the fuck happened here!

[If Koro's licking isn't enough, the fact that Bull is stomping up on the scene and shouting might help something. Because the Iron Bull does not look pleased. Far from it.]

[He'll only pause long enough to let Ken get down before approaching closer, hammer in one hand. Just in case.]

[Like Kasumi, Hawke's voice is welcomed, and although you can't see it, there's the corners of his mouth turning up.]

I'm...

I hit a lamppost.

[Yes, thanks, now onto what her question was.]

Tetsuo. Fuckin' asshole threw a goddamn tantrum.

[He's silent again, although background noise can be heard as he hisses from the pain of running his hand through his hair again. A habit, and one that's obviously not doing him any favours right now.]

Tetsuo threw a goddamn tantrum.

Stupid idiot.

[ Oh boy, he got hit real bad, huh? ]

Yes, yes, I can see that. I think you showed the lamppost who's boss.

[ As the lamp is less likely to be fixed here, she unofficially declares Kaneda's flying body the winner. ]

Is he still there? [ Only, she realizes, she isn't actually sure who Tetsuo is. ] What does he look like?

[Kaneda's elbow almost slips before Koro's there, the Shiba's bark sounding through the air like a bell as he looks over, eyes suddenly alert. It doesn't take much longer for the dog to leap at him, his soft, warm tongue licking against that cheek.

Compared to everything else that happened tonight, this was probably the best feeling he could have right now.]

Hey, hey, hey...easy boy. I'm awake, see? I'm okay.

[Say that when there isn't blood on your face, asshole. Although he doesn't have much time to soak in that moment, as Bull thunders up and he winces from the sound. His brain feels like it's already spun around backwards, and now mixed signals are starting to fire in that brain of his.

Are you always this loud?]

Hey.

[Kaneda's eyes flick to the portal as Riku steps through, and although he's looking in that direction, he may as well have been a hundred miles away behind those eyes. He's not completely fargone, he knows what the hell is happening, but it feels like he's underwater and someone's speaking to him.

...

When Riku crouches, he smiles. Glad to see him as always.]

Too stubborn to die, remember?

[But Curaga takes over, and he can feel the immense pain on his head start to subside. The bleeding stops, and the fishbowl feeling starts to ebb away, but he's still a little woozy from the whole ordeal.]

Damn right I did.

[His voice lifts up ever so slightly at that, the first tone that didn't sound like he was half asleep while talking.]

Tetsuo?

No. He walked off when I snapped it.

[He's trying to think of how to describe him. How do you explain someone who's...in comparison to some people here, average?]

Giant head.

[He'd punch him, but it might kill him, so instead he just gives him the most exasperated look.]

Death is cheap here, but you're pushing it.

[He sits back, letting himself down out of the crouch so he's simply sitting on the ground beside him.]

I don't think I need to ask what happened.

The one and only.

[His words slur a bit at that, chin slipping off his hand before he readjusts it, blinking rapidly to stay up and alert.]

Sounds pretty charming, doesn't he.

[Kaneda's eyes flick up to meet Riku's, any and all cocky attitude dropped right there. For the first time, Kaneda honestly hadn't asked for this.

Pushing death...not exactly wrong--he did have a track record for getting into shit here, and his durability was his saving grace.

It'd become so much a part of him now...]

I didn't want it, you know.

[Technically they did, once that she doesn't know it was him, but she's talking about the times they've texted.

Not very good memories.]

Talk to me, Kaneda, what happened?

[She's running now, passing up traffic on her way to the porter. Soon.]

[Ken pats Bull's head before climbing off.] Mr Bull, I think you should keep it down a little... he sounded like he hit his head. [But he's quick to slide off -- literally sliding off, hopping onto his feet lightly and stepping around him. The Evoker glints in the streetlight and Ken's not hesitating to fire it off.

Sorry Bull, you haven't seen his updated power. She is kind of huge as she spins into existence and starts to heal Kaneda, same but stronger yellow glow around his injuries.]

[He nods, letting the Keyblade go again. It sparkles out of existence and he's left to watch Kaneda, prepared to re-cast if he has to, though he's not sure he can do it right away. Suddenly, though, his friend looks just... small. Kaneda always seems like he's got this well of energy, and right now it looks like it's completely empty.]

No. Not this.

I can understand lashing out. But this is...

[It's overkill, is what it is. It seems to him that this is more damage than he's ever seen Tetsuo do.]

Why do you think I'm yelling? Keeps 'em awake.

[And while Ken starts to do his thing, Bull starts prowling. As much as anyone his size can. He wants to be damn sure whatever was around isn't anymore. And if it is...]

[He'll handle it.]

[And that's how Ken's Persona almost gets smashed with the hammer.]

What the fuck--! What is that!

[Sabriel is cheerfully disregarding most traffic laws tonight- particularly speed limits. Her car pulls up next to Kaneda, and she leaps out, already reaching into the Charter as she assesses his injuries, letting one of her hands strays to his head.]

Kaneda, do you feel dizzy? How well can you remember what happened?

[Because if he has a concussion... Sabriel has faith in her spells, but if they don't work...]

[And you're alive? He's impressed. He can think of maybe two people who fit that bill.

Don't ask him how that magic works.]

He wanted to know something, and when I didn't give it to him, he threw a tantrum.

[At least, that's how he remembers it. He's still got some fuzziness, but he's sure that's how it all went down.]

[Ugh, two seconds explanations aren't going to keep you awake and talking.]

Kaneda...

[Okay fine, he probably doesn't want to go into specifics, or literally can't.]

What hurts?

[Her voice is softer, calmer.]

[There's a sharp inhale as he collects himself, moving over to let Riku sit. With the immediate pain gone, and the shock starting to wear off, colour was returning to his cheeks. Processing everything that happened.]

He wanted to know about back home. Asshole doesn't know what he's getting into--so I didn't tell him.

[And...well, Tetsuo gave his opinion rather clearly.]

[Kaneda's fingers rake through Koromaru's fur, as if that was what was keeping him grounded as the other two approach.

Ken slides off, and his eyes trail that before immediately switching to Bull stomping around like the animal he resembled. His attention seems all over the place, only petting Koromaru as his constant.

But Kala-Nemi appears, and his gaze looks up...and up. Remembering just how MASSIVE she was, before looking back own to Bull.]

His thing...you know.

[Cue the gesture of the gun to the head and 'pew!'--]

Ow. [Moving his head like that was NOT going to happen again.]

[He nods, considering this. He hadn't wanted to tell Sora about what had happened back home, either. Things he wasn't proud of, things that he knew would just disappoint him. But with Kaneda and Tetsuo, it's different. He doesn't know all the details, but he's got enough to put together a decent idea.]

Right. I get it. Ignorance is... better than finding out your story doesn't go the way you imagined it would.

[A little bit of both, there.]

My head. Think that's what took the most of it this time. Back and shoulders too, but I don't think anything's busted.

[He knows nothing's busted, except for that little part of him that's bleeding. How do you even....that metal bar SNAPPED IN HALF.]

That's gonna be a nasty bruise.

[Kaneda's eyes widen as the car approaches--it's a hover car, from the sound of it. He'd already gotten an ear for the difference between the two. So when it stops, his brows raise as he leans up, momentarily awake as Sabriel gets out.

What a welcoming sign that was.

He keeps sitting, letting her kneel down by him and inspect him with little to no issue.]

A little...like my brains on backwards.

[The bleeding's there, but its much slower than it was when he first contacted the network, so it is clotting. His head doesn't move, letting her do whatever she needs with that hand, closing his eyes a moment before they flutter back open.]

Stupid asshole had a tantrum.

Your power will never cease to amaze me. Just how hard did you hit that thing?

[Too much time wasted at the porter getting cleared, but then she's in Nonah, stopping only long enough to get some supplies from a convenient store before she starts looking for him. Does his comm have GPS?]

Persona. You saw it before, didn't you -- she changed. She got bigger.

[Maybe you should've watched Dipper's Pokemon, Bull! Then you'll know!]

I can use healing magic. It's the same one I used for Kasumi-san and Glitch-san when they got hurt, too, but it's more powerful now. Kaneda-san... you should be able to walk, at least, but you should let Mr Bull carry you.

... Sure. Bigger.

[But he still looks Super Mega Unsure about this, and keeps the hammer at the ready. Albeit ready in one hand when Ken tells Kaneda he can move.]
