[It's late at night, well past 11pm when the feed clicks on. At first it doesn't look like anything, a bunch of blackness with one bright light in the distance. It looks like a lamppost...or what's left of one. It seems to have been literally broken in half by impact alone, the metal completely snapped instead of bent, the upper half lying on the sidewalk and facing up. Sparks fly from the base of it, the cord obviously cut there when it was snapped. Whatever hit it...well, it had to be going at an incredible speed.

But the feed turns, towards a closer, brighter lamppost that seems to be intact, Kaneda sitting in front of it on the sidewalk.

Well, you look like you've seen better days, buddy.

He doesn't say anything at first, more so trying to catch his breath as a hand reaches up to his head. Face contorting into a wince as his fingers rake through his hair. When his gloved hand comes out, he looks at it as if he just found a gross bug.

Blood. Even better.]

Dammit.

[Whatever mirth he had in his voice earlier that night from the comm is gone, and the glitter in his eyes is lost. Oh yeah, he was recording, wasn't he. Those eyes turn towards the screen, away from the broken lamppost that he was seemingly fixated on. His voice is low, and some of his words are a little slurred as he tries to make a coherent sentence.]

Don't care who it is, but I need a healer. Or a way back.

[He's not too far from the house, but walking is just not happening.]

[The voice is familiar, so he doesn't even have to address it. Honestly, his brain's practically spun backwards in his head from everything, thinking hurts too much.

[Ken turns on the recording in the middle of one word:]

'Ster Buuuuuuuull!!

[right. Getting dad. Now turning to Kaneda..]

Where.

[Remember how you had that talk with him about a certain movie well guess who wanted to know how that movie ended, Tadashi.

And guess who didn't tell.]

...

[It takes him a moment to read that, blinking a few times.]

Nonah.

Block down from five.

Kaneda!

Is another healer already coming, and- what happened?

[KANEDA WHY WOULD YOU.]

I can be there in fifteen.

[SORRY THAT THERE'S NO 'SUCKS THAT YOU TURNED INTO A FLESHY BLOB MONSTER' APOLOGY CARD HE'S STILL LOOKING.]

Gotcha.

[He'll just be here, trying not to nod off. Because that sounds really nice right now.]

[ It's muttered beneath her breath, but -- ] Holy shit.

Kaneda? Hey, just listen to my voice, okay? Stay on. Someone's coming for you.

[ Or at least, she has the utmost faith that someone from Nonah 05 would make their way over as soon as this thing hit the 'net. ]

[He's silent for a moment, trying to recollect what the hell just happened himself. Blinking a few times to try and keep himself focused because...that's pretty hard right now.]

I hit a lamppost.

[With some help from an angry psychic.]

Healing would be great.

[You can't see it, but he's smiling a little at her voice. If that stupid teen crush of his did anything, it certainly kept his attention on her.]

I like your voice.

I'll be there as soon as I can. Just hold on!

[This is probably coming from Ken's video feed more than Bull's, but there's a muffled string of curses and the sound of heavy feet.]

[Dad is alert. And on the way.]

Holy-

[Why does this keep happening? But this was worse than the bridge, much worse. Like hell she's waiting for someone else to respond this time. She's no healer, but she can get him to one.]

Kaneda, what happened?

[Keep him talking while she puts on her maglev.]

[He's half in a daze still, running a hand down his face to try and grip the bridge of his nose. He'd taken a lot of injuries in the past, but none were so focused on his head.

Tetsuo's aim was getting better.]

Nonah.

Few blocks down from house.

I'll be waiting.

[There's a soft uptone in his voice at that, hand instinctively running through his hair again, only to...yep. Get that same pain he got the first time.

Damn.

His eyes shift to the lamppost down the street, seemingly fixated on it.]

Give us four minutes.

[Ken's already following Dad out of the house and probably jumping up to cling to his shoulder and then climbing up. It's the dadmobile-ambulance, and he's taking Koromaru along to sniff out Kaneda's location more accurately, too.]

[He'll just help swing the kid up onto his shoulder while they walk. He's got the old sledgehammer on his back again, like always.]

[Like they're about to walk into hell and he has a bone to pick.]

[Why? Well there's quite a simple answer to that, Gogo.

When asked what happened, he blinks a few times, trying to keep himself focused on the conversation.]

Hit a lamppost.

Flew into it--psychic bullshit.

[His finger reaches up doing the crazy 'twirly' motion next to his temple.]

[It's easy to tell where Kaneda's at. Thankfully there's only one snapped lamppost on the whole street, and the one closer to them from that has him sitting, elbow on knee and chin on hand, trying his hardest not to nod off.

That's what Wasabi said last time, right? Don't nod off.]

[ He can't see it, either, but she purses her lips. In any other situation, she might have brushed it off, immediately changed the topic, but in his state, it's more important that he stays on. So what she says instead is this: ]

I know.

[ and then, after a beat, ] Can you tell me what happened?

Psychic....

[There's a pause as she takes that in, but she quickly finishes equipping her armor.]

Who did it? Is this the same guy that threw you off the bridge?

[Switching the call to her helmet, a video opening on her display so she can keep an eye on him, she grabs her discs and wastes no time running out of the house.]

[ That is... definitely not good.

Medical attention seems covered, though, which is good, since Hawke's no healer. She'll move onto the next immediate question that isn't "are you okay", since the answer there is pretty dang obvious. ]

Kaneda. [ Come on, kid, focus. ] Who did this? Can you tell me?

[He's done this before, and he's doing it again now -- this is the third time that he's felt himself enter the Realm of Darkness, and the second time he's used it to get Kaneda out of some sort of bind. He doesn't mind, really -- it affects him less than he thought it might -- but it still makes him feel awful, like he's eaten something bad and he's trying not to throw it up.

Riku steps out of the portal, his breath a little laboured, and he crouches beside Kaneda, narrowed eyes on his face. He's gonna have to use his full strength for this, he thinks, and he retrieves the Keyblade from the place inside of him. He casts Curaga, drawing up every bit of magic energy he can spare.]

C'mon, idiot. Don't die on me.

[Ken's already pulling out his Evoker while perched on Bull's head as they're walking. A bark from Koromaru as the dog rushes ahead and they'll know exactly where he is.

Don't fall asleep, Kaneda! Koro's going to make sure you aren't, any blood on the kid's face be damed, as he dashes right up to him and starts licking furiously at his face.]
