(it's midnight somewhere) Happy Newt Year

[So, it's midnight and when the video comes on, Time Square is SCREAMING LOUD: the countdown has just hit ONE, the ball has dropped, there's kazoos and buzzers and poppers and fireworks and sparklers and Auld Lang Syne sung by a million drunk people who have drowned out the speakers pumping in the music.

And that's just the soundtrack.

But the focus of video, which is very clearly a slightly sloppy selfie by a possibly drunk Newton Geiszler, is the lip-lock he now has on his lab-mate, Hermann Gottlieb. His cheeks are rosy from the cold and Hermann is nearly overtaken by his parka hood, and they're being jostled by the crowd, but the kiss lasts a good long time before they finally break apart.

Before he shuts off the feed, Newt brings the phone closer and declares VERY LOUDLY and VERY SHRILLY so he's heard over the noise:]

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I guess I should say thank you? I think I should. So thank you. But I'm not
I'm just

And that would be the reason he's not a matador anymore. Besides being a good guitarrista.

You both have fun at... wherever you guys are. I'm not sure if I'll manage the video function if we get that far!

??? Generally when someone offers you their support you should thank them for it. Or at least acknowledge it. I just don't know how to answer anything else you asked regarding... that.

Well I guess? He's always been happy as long as someone is enjoying his music. I wouldn't know if he's making enough money through that, but I see to it that he doesn't starve regardless. And while I am registered he is not. He's fine enough with a sword but I would rather he stick with music. It suits him. Fighting does not.

Wow what?

Sounds like something up Manolo's alley. Even if you didn't invite me, I would probably come along anyway because I would rather know he's safe and not to be rude but I would be more comfortable if I were there to protect him if something went wrong.
