Happy New Year everyone! Unfortunately, as its New Year’s, everything’s closed for the most part. Fortunately, I think Peter Parker and I might have a solution to your boredom. So after we moved in together, we discovered something: apparently, we both have a freakishly large number of board games that we’ve managed to collect in our time here. As most of these games require more than two players to be remotely entertaining, and we’ve been meaning to have a housewarming anyway, we thought we’d open up our house to hopefully the first of many game nights.

What do we have? Well, just to name a few...
- Scrabble
- Pictionary
- Clue
- Settlers of Catan
- Carcassonne
- Ticket to Ride

[Or whatever their off-brand name is here. As he lists each game, he holds the box up in front of his face so everyone can get a good look at the box.]

Also, if people are feeling particularly sadistic we also have Monopoly and Risk.

Anyone curious about what else we might have will have to stop on by and see for themselves. This offer is open to everyone, even if you don’t know us or have never played any of these games before. We can teach you.

...Without sounding like a complete jerk, they're games you play on a board.

Each one has a different objective, like Clue it's to find out who killed someone in a mansion (also where and with what), Settlers of Catan you have to get 10 points based on creating cities on the board, and scrabble you have to get the most points before the board fills.

It's a card game. Whoever's in charge plays a black card out of the deck...

[Opens the box and pulls one out to show to the camera:

Then everyone else chooses an answer for the blank from the white cards in their hand and places them facedown on the table. Best, and by best I mean most awful, answer usually wins.

[Pulls out a stack of white cards and goes through them until he finds one he likes, then holds it up:

And that's... funny. The person picks that card 'cause they think it's funny and... who gets a point? The person that played the card?

My selfish vote is for Scrabble. That's probably the only thing I'd stand a decent chance in.

Granted, I haven't even heard of a couple of those.

All the more reason to try something new. While I can't promise everyone won't be crazy competitive, I'm hoping for something semi-casual because I haven't played some of these games yet either.

Though I must say Scrabble will definitely be played. Peter's very adamant about Scrabble.

But yeah. Casual's good. I'd have to bow out if thing got too messy. I'm not emotionally prepared for that.

My apologies, but can I ask what "Cards Against Humanity" is and why it's "everyone's favorite"?

I've heard of some of the other games but that one isn't too familiar to me.

It's a card game where people take turns putting down questions or statements with blanks in them, and people have to use the cards in their hand to come up with the most memorable, coherent answer.

[Sorry Mr. Fletcher, you get the G-rated answer because he doesn't know you yet.]

I've never played it before, so I'm mainly guessing, but it's because the game can be pretty dirty and lead to some hilariously awful answers depending on what cards you get and who you're playing with.

It's a card game where essentially you go around trying to come up with the worst answers to the black cards you can think of. And by worst I don't mean poorly thought out bad. I mean...
