So, yeah, surprise bet you didn't expect to see me again.

We need to talk.

Since Cap's been gone we kind of fell to pieces, well, I'm saying lets stop that and get our shit together. Why? Because our fucking friends are gone. And I don't know if you guys remember but we were pretty awesome at getting shit done in Maurtia Falls. Now we just need to like step up a bit on a more national scale.

So, yeah, organize. We need to meet somewhere private and secret and start figuring out what to do. Making use of whatever contacts we have, favours, knocking criminals teeth in for info. Whatever it takes.

And before you all jump on me for "whatever it takes bit" I mean within reason.

All of Archangel's contacts were regarding the Maurtia Falls underworld. While I wouldn't rule out finding a few Soviet spies, getting relevant information about our friends is- unlikely, to say the least.

And any aggressive action against Russia- even if we disavow America, and America disavows us- will be seen as American aggression, and we know the likely response to that. And we need to locate our friends before we even start on a plan of action.

Okay, maybe not our friends, but we could find out where these spies go and where they're coming from, aside from the obvious they came from Russia.

And I'm not talking about like, blowing up buildings and shit. I mean, we're smart and we kind of have people could with intel and breaking into places and being sneaky.

We could start with that. Getting leads.

Glitch, the information we need is probably in Russia. The spies will know what information they were asked to gather, but I doubt Russia told them where it planned to keep the imPorts they took or what they planned to do with them.

And I get that, we just...need to get there first. So, okay, maybe they didn't tell the spies stuff, but they might have something own them. A clue or a hint or something.

All I'm saying is we all worked good together with Maurtia so why not now? [ and he shrugs a bit. ]

Besides, I'm just offering ideas, not like I know how to run an operation.

Look, not all of the tactics that worked for fighting crime in Maurtia Falls will work for this. And we'll need to coordinate with everyone else involved to make sure that we don't get in each others way and make things worse.

Let me handle this- I'm part of RISE, I can coordinate with them.

Glitch, calm down. This is a time when doing the wrong thing could be far, far worse than doing nothing.

Everything Archangel did? That was children fighting on a playground compared to this. Yes, some of our tactics and teamwork might help, but we need to watch what's happening and think things through before we act, or we could worsen hostilities.

Ughhhhhhhh, I'M NOT-!

[ This was getting frustrating. He's emotional sure, but he's also feeling like he's being treated like he's stupid. Still, all this cooperation stuff is getting annoying.]

I'm not saying we do EXACTLY THE SAME SHIT we did! I'm just saying, we could at least form up again and figure shit out together and plan and do something to help.

I already fucking know what's at stake and what could happen if we fuck up royally. But, we got hackers and people who've been to war, right? They at least know how to change the operation and you're with those RISE people.

Sabriel's right. Everything we fought in Archangel- the sharks, the cops, all of it- it's nothing compared to what we're about to deal with.

The second we've got a location on our friends, I'm first in line for the rescue mission. But the tactics we used in Maurtia Falls aren't going to cut it. Fighting crime is a whole different planet from fighting a war.

I get that, because this time the guys we're up against have weapons that'll fucking destroy everything. I know how bad it sounds and maybe most of the stuff we did won't work here, but SOME of it might.

Yeah... some. Like how Sabriel was able to get intel from dead bodies using her powers. Or how good Kasumi is at getting into places without being detected. All we need is a lead to go on, and we can do some good.

There's no harm meeting, at least. If nothing else, we can take stock of where the team's at. Maybe figure out if we can get the mission going again without the Captain.

We can get shit together without him. Maybe instead of putting power in just one person's hands we all share it or some shit.

Regardless, not quite the point right now. First point is doing something about kidnappees.

Hey, yeah. That's a good idea. If we had some kind of... command council, the group could be resilient. Instead of falling apart whenever the leader gets arrested or Ported out.

But you're right. We'll deal with it later. I'm close to Commander Shepard, and I know he'll have an angle on this. I can pass along whatever he digs up.

[Avoiding jumping back into vigilante work. Avoiding getting too involved in another war. Avoiding, above all other things, associating himself with another Archangel. But here they are, and here's the inevitable escalation that's effectively forcing his hand.]

In any case, what kind of contacts does Archangel have that can be used? I thought it was a local operation.

Look, I don't really know everything and everyone we dealt with but yeah, we were local. But, I mean, someone we helped might know something or could help us.

[ he's literally grasping at straws at this point. ]

[It means that Uncle Garrus has some serious emotional baggage he needs to ditch. It could also mean he's hungry.]

Don't waste time with local feelers if your threat is elsewhere. If they've got something to contribute, they'll come through on their own, especially since this is a matter that concerns everyone.

That being said, if an organization is local, it needs to stay that way. If you start spreading u-- yourselves too thin, it'll only come back to bite you in the ass. If you wanna get this group to do something, make it a district effort. Gather supplies, make evacuation plans, and make sure you've got enough resources to keep civilians safe if fighting breaks out around here.

I don't know that the kind of thing we do around here necessarily translates into an appropriate--or sensible response to this messy kidnapping business, either.

What's happening is warfare, Glitch. It's nothing like what we do.

You're right that we should figure something out eventually, now that Steve's gone -- I doubt the crooks are going to take a break from doing what they do just because the big bad Soviets declared war, but... [ it's not the right time. ]

And weren't YOU in a war? You know more about this shit then I do. There's gotta be an in between of beating Russians up to doing nothing at all.

And more likely to have access to whatever military help this country will offer. I know we don't trust the government for a reason, but this is an international problem. I'd love to just be able to kick a few doors down, though.
