[ooc: Note: Mikleo will be in blue while Sorey will be in black. Also note that because Mikleo is a seraph, only characters with a higher level of resonance will be able to see/hear Mikleo. For everyone else? Well. It just seems like Sorey is talking to air.....]

[This is the first time Sorey is attempting to use these things. They didn't quite have anything like this back home to really compare it to, but he manages to get it turned on, with the video function. Initially, he may be peering at the camera a little too closely before pulling back, giving a better look at himself rather than an extreme close up of his bright green eyes. He turns, as if looking to someone sitting right near him, seeming rather animated and excited as he points to the device.] Mikleo, I think I got it! That light there, that means it's on, er-what did you say, recording, right?

[ Mikleo's brows furrow, and he points to the phone. ] Shh! They can't hear or see me, remember? Just pretend I'm not here! But, to answer your question, that's precisely what it means.

What are you--ooooh. Right! [Cue nervous laugher a bit there as he rubs the back of his neck, turning his attention back to the device itself.] So um. A-anyway, I'm Sorey. I kind of just got here, myself. So I had a few questions? Mostly about our jobs. And....and school! They have lessons on history there, right? [No Sorey, don't get too distracted thinking about that. The history of a whole new world to explore and read.....er, what else was he supposed to ask about again?]

[ Mikleo sighs on his end, crossing his arms and sending Sorey a rather dry look. ] Didn't you learn your lesson the first time you were schooled? There's more to it than just history lessons.

I know that! [Turning back to Mikleo again with a pout at his lips.] But history was always my favourite -- our favourite. Besides, the history and other lessons here are sure to be way different!

[ Sorey... What did he just say? He can't exactly blame him either, though. They are used to talking to one another nearly all day, every day. ] Hey, pretend that I'm not here, remember?

Oh yeah... [Oops. He's just so used to interacting with Mikleo back home. Used to ignoring the odd stares he occasionally gets out in public since leaving Elysia.] Um, one other question! How do you figure planning vacations? I mean, I guess I get the idea, but I just got here. I don't know where people might want to go vacation to. Apparently that's my job here though. No - make that two questions, actually. This war....

[ Mikleo straightens at that, brows furrowed. ] Hey-- be careful about that last part.

What? I figure...we should find out what's going on. Now we are here. [He's not sure he wants to mention that he only just came from a war back home. Sorey's no less eager to get involved in this one either. But he might not have a choice in the matter this time either. If his helping would mean even one less person might get hurt or killed, he'd probably do it.]

[ Mikleo stays silent at that, gesturing towards the screen once more. He'll stay silent this time. It'd be better to talk to him about everything once he's done. ... Either way, hopefully no one thinks that he's crazy or anything. He doesn't want this to be harder on him than it probably already is. ]

I mean. Of course, I got that file, but it didn't explain a lot, just the basics. I figure someone might be able to give a better idea on what's going on. [Hopefully. Surely. He's not sure what else to say, exactly. If there was anything else especially pressing he wanted to ask about. He's pretty sure that's the basics at least.] Oh, one last thing before I figure turning this thing off. But....what's Valentines? [It seems like it involves a lot of flowers. And chocolates?]

--That's your last question? [ Mikleo looks on in mild surprise. Well, it's just like him to be curious about-- just about everything. He can't say he really blames him entirely, either. ] ... Well, at least we'll get to gain a lot of information about this world.

Yeah! Wait, so how does it turn off again? It's this button-- [oh. Well. It seems he figured it out, because right there, it cuts off. Maybe he will get the hang of this before long!]

[ Now there's a face that Alisha wasn't anticipating on seeing. And from the sound of it, Mikleo's there, too.

(Not that she'd expect anything less from the two of them.)

She fumbles with the device for a moment in her excitement, and when she gets the video going, there's a little smile tugging at her lips. ]

Sorey! And... Mikleo, you're there too, aren't you? [ She can't see or hear him— her resonance still isn't up to snuff, apparently— but she still manages to sound happy as she bows her head in a quick greeting. ] I only just arrived here myself, so I don't have many answers for you, but... I shall pass any information I find on to the both of you, if you'd like.

[ As a fellow nerdlord, it's the least she can do. ]

After all, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious about those things, too.

[ Her job, the history of this place, the holidays and cultural differences... it's almost a little overwhelming, but it's also the perfect opportunity to do some good, old-fashioned reading. ]

[This looks suspicious as hell, Sorey.]

[ So, Glitch can't really SEE the other boy there. After all, pretty vanilla human other than powers so this whole conversation ALL Glitch can tell is that the boy with the feathers is talking to nobody there.

Clearly he must handle this with care and cau- ]

Dude, are you fucking crazy or something? Who are you talking to?

Am I--huh? Oh....well, er, you see...it's one of my friends. Except he's a seraph, so only certain people can actually see and hear him.

[Sorey is the worst liar and never has actually bothered even in public to try not talk to Mikleo or react to him or the others. So. He probably should just come clean on this, right? He already did mention Mikleo's name right there. This shouldn't be so strange or hard to figure out from that, surely?

Though he is now glancing to Mikleo, looking almost apologetic. The other is well aware of Sorey's inability to lie though, after growing up together and all.]

[Sorey keeps forgetting others can't see and hear the seraphim like he can....and this is just why Mikleo told him to try pretend he wasn't there, huh? Still. He can't not answer. When he does, it's perhaps slightly reluctant, with a glance to his friend.]

Mikleo. He's a water seraph. Most humans can't see or hear him or other seraphim though, if they have lower resonance.

Okay, going with crazy.

[Riku skims the network a lot. He tends to page through things and accidentally get caught up in reading things that have nothing to do with him, realize it, and close out because he feels like a creep. And he might have simply skimmed past this, but then it became... sort of interesting.

First, the idea that no one could see the other guy, when he's right there. Riku half-wonders if it's them that are crazy or if it's him. And then as they get talking, he has this extreme sense of deja-vu, and he realizes just after the video closes precisely why that is.]

... You guys need a hand?

I...I'm really not! If Rose were here, she'd tell you! She can see and hear Mikleo and the others as well.

[Honest! He means that. He's really not the only one who can see and hear the seraphim. It's just rarer that people have high enough resonance to do so, Sorey being one of them due to being raised by seraphim back home when he was growing up.]

Is this supposed to be some sort of joke? Your friend is completely visible. [To Sabriel, anyway.]

As for your questions- Valentines Day is a holiday in this world celebrating romantic love... and chocolate, apparently.

As for what our situation is... we've been dragged into another world, and our hosts are in conflict with another nation- one that sees us as dangerous, out of control weapons and recently attempted to 'confiscate' us.

[Of course Sorey is thrilled to see Alisha, to hear from her. He had been worried, with events back home, after all. Even if it should be -- that it is worrying for her to be away from home too. She should be back in Hyland, with her duties as a princess, as a knight. Instead, she's here too. In spite of himself though, he is relieved that she's alright.]

Ah, yeah. He's here too. I haven't seen any of the others yet, but that doesn't mean they aren't here too, possibly. This place is pretty big, after all! We can let you know if we find much if anything out too. It'll be good to exchange any information between us.

[A pause as he considers for a moment.]

Where are you? It's probably better if we meet up in person. It'll be easier to help you talk to Mikleo that way.

[ rose breathes a heavy sigh. she is both relieved and... disappointed. although she missed sorey, his friends, and those she knew from her world she did not want to see them here. if they were here then they were only prolonging the inevitable - their fight with the lord of calamity.

still, his exchange with mikleo and the fact that he looks like a total DOOFUS right now brings a smile to her face. ]

You know your admiring audience thinks you're talking to yourself, right? Anyway, V-day is a day where people go crazy over chocolates and roses. The stores make big bucks and everyone's happy. Well, if you got a special somebody.

[ if none of this stupid war crap was happening she could actually CELEBRATE!! WITH MONEY!! other people's money, of course. ]

[Because you know, they both just got here and all that. They could both use any and all advice. Especially since so much of this place is familiar but also new at the same time. The transports, the technology, for a couple of examples. Sorey scratches his cheek briefly as he considers.]

Probably about anything more what's in the files would be useful. This place seems pretty different from Glenwood.

Huh? You....you can see Mikleo?!

[Whoever this girl is, she must have pretty exceptional resonance to be able to see and hear the seraph. Sorey almost doesn't quite catch the rest as she tries to give him an explanation, some answers because he's so distracted by that revelation.]

Love and chocolate, huh? We didn't have anything like that back home. But....

[Well. That last almost hits a little too close to home, what with the war between Hyland and Rolance. Their use of him and his Shepherd powers to claim victory.]

I don't suppose we could try talk to them?

Mm. Yeah, I'd say it's probably pretty different. Even just judging from your outfits. That being said... your file generally details you and your powers, as far as I know. Maybe more or less in-depth depending on the person.

[She's here too? Well. Actually, that kind of would make sense. He had just been with her back home, at that base of theirs. After having saved him from Heldalf. So he's not really thinking as much on this as he probably could be. Which still doesn't stop him giving a nervous, almost sheepish laugh at her reminder.]

Eheh. I know. I'm just so used to talking to Mikleo anyway. A special somebody?

[He's curious. What could be bad about sharing gifts of chocolate and flowers, after all?]

[The plurals should be -- are possibly cluing Sorey in that Riku can see and hear Mikleo at this point. He's just not sure if he should outright say or ask about it.]

How did they even get this information about us anyway?

[Literally nobody outside Elysia knew Sorey or Mikleo for years. Until they had found Alisha and Sorey subsequently became the Shepherd.]

[ oh boy, sorey was pretty dense. all that travelling with zaveid and he had never gotten "the talk" before? incredible. ]

Like that one guy or gal you wanna spend the rest of your life with. Or you just got a crush on. You give them chocolates and roses to show your affection. People like me love to make money off of this kind of stuff.

I guess I just wasn't sure who else from home might be around, is all.

[But still, it is a relief to see her and know she's obviously alright after the events back home.]

[Can he just buy some for Rose, Alisha and Mikleo anyway? Sorey hasn't really put much if any thought to crushes or all that sort of thing. Probably because he never had to question or define whatever his relationship is with Mikleo, and it's different with seraphim. Even if it's Mikleo that initially comes to mind when he would consider who he wants to be with for the rest of his life. He can't imagine being without Mikleo, they've always been together, that argument at Ladylake aside.

And more recent events. But still.]

That's... a question I don't know the answer to, unfortunately.

[He's been trying to figure that out for ages, honestly.]

As for Russia... Well, there have been some attempts at diplomacy- though with their recent kidnapping of many imPorts, things seem to be more sour than usual, even after we got everyone back.

Thankfully I don't see Zaveid but it would have been nice to see Edna or Lailah too.

Hm. I just wondered, after reading through it, that's all.

[It'd be too convenient if absolutely all of his questions had answers. Or rather, that others would know the answers. There's still a lot of questions around home too, but he's trying to focus here.]

Nanites. Those things inside us with our powers or something, wasn't it?

[At least, from what little he can recall of the files and brief explanations he was given upon arrival. He's still not sure how he feels about a lot of this.]

Yeah, sort of. I don't think they produce the powers or anything, since a lot of us have the same powers we had at home. But they do seem to ... add stuff. Most notably that you can get killed and come back.

Again, I'm not really the person to ask about this. I don't know much about them myself. I'm not really a... science type.
