[Hello, imPorts! Today, when Saint Walker takes to the network, there is a certain solemnity to his perpetually cheerful features, though that in no way overrides the pleasantness in his voice. It is out of acknowledgment of their current predicament; nothing more.]

Good afternoon. To say that the past few months have been trying would, I think, be something of an understatement. I am unable to make any grandiose statements that alleviate this tension, nor am I able to offer any suggestions on what one may do on the macro scale. What I would like to offer, however, is my personal help to any of you who may be feeling the strain of these trying times.

Where I am from, I often guided those in need of assistance in sorting out complicated feelings, and guided others in the art of meditation. Whether one is facing great problems or small - and I assure you, I have provided my help to people who fit both of these categories - meditation can help with that, whether it is to assist in bringing about even temporary inner peace and calm, or bringing clarity to matters that need addressing.

Hmm. I am aware of the theory of reincarnation, of course; such a theory is very common, even in areas other than Earth. What I am not familiar with, however, is the idea of remembering one's incarnations. Do you mean to say that you remember each of your lives?

I do. [ The Doctor pauses for a moment though, before continuing. ] But it's not like reincarnation in the sense that I'd be a completely new man. The process is called regeneration. Same Doctor, just different casing.

How delightfully fascinating!

[Saint Walker has so many questions, Doctor. This would probably shake the faith of another religious man, but Saint Walker's able to squash just about anything into his world view if he twists it the right way.]

You are effectively immortal?

Not entirely, [ said with a small shrug. ] Everybody dies in the end, it just takes me longer than most.

Then the number of times that you can regenerate is limited?

Sort of. Time Lords only have twelve regenerations. However, there are ways around it, such as the Time Lord high council granting new regenerations.

The difference between life and death is an incredibly large decision to give to a council, no matter how learned they may be. Tell me, my friend, do you approve of the way that this decision is made?

[There's little more than pure curiosity in his voice. He has no idea where the Doctor stands on bureaucracy in general, after all.]

[ The look on the Doctor's face is just pure YEAH RIGHT. He's not a fan of bureaucracy. Never was, probably never will be, this is the face of someone who is not a fan. ]

They'd want me to say that I approve because they tossed me an extra set of regenerations. So naturally, I don't.

I had a strong suspicion that you would say as much. It is a power that oughtn't be abused, or used in order to maintain... wanted behaviour, shall I say?

[Not that he knows anything about the Time Lords, not really, but a council being in charge of everyone sure hasn't ended well in his immediate past.]

But the rest of your kind is, at the very least, content with this prospect?

For the most part. There's always a few bad eggs who try to steal regenerations or, in dire circumstances, steal someone else's body entirely, but it's a good system and it's worked for all these eons.

There is little I can comment on when it comes to a place a world, a universe away. I hope that it is used fairly, and that it will continue to be used fairly. Authority is, I think, always something to be second-guessed -- even my own.

[Because he is the authority. Because he's used to being treated as such, in fact, though most treated him like their silly uncle rather than a threat -- but whenever decisions had to be made, someone inevitably came to him.]

You've got authority? [ the Doctor asks, slightly serious but also slightly joking. ]

Of a sort, yes, as unbelievable as that may be. I held dominion over none, but was looked at... for guidance, I suppose one would say.

Now I can believe that much. It's Saint Walker, boss of the Blue Lanterns that I couldn't believe in the slightest.

That is still true, to some degree. Those that I... recruit, I suppose you would say, choose to follow me. [He's the sort who inspires loyalty from a certain kind of people, after all.] And I am the founder of the Corps, so that does afford me a certain sort of authority, but it is not as simple, nor is it as concrete, as other organizations.

No sort of 'Blue Lantern Corps Promise?' I promise that I will do my best, to be true to myself and develop my beliefs, to serve the interplanetary community, to help other people and to keep the Lantern Corps Law? Nothing like that?

Ah -- you speak of our oath.

[Well, obviously he has to say it.]

In fearful day, in raging night,
With strong hearts full, our souls ignite,
When all seems lost in the War of Light,
Look to the stars-- For hope burns bright.

It is, I think, to the point. Each Corps has their own oath, you see.

It's no Girl Guides Promise, but it'll do. [ just 100% teasing here. But that offers another question... ] What other Corps are there?

More than I know. The Green Lantern of this world has told me that I am simply not aware of at least one other faction. The ones that I have met, however, are the Green Lanterns, who are powered by will, and the Red Lanterns, who are powered by rage. Each colour represents some part of the emotional spectrum, you see.

I feel sorry for whatever poor color got stuck with apathy. They're probably jealous of the happiness color.

I suppose any variety of emotion is possible, but from what I have witnessed, it requires a certain... strength of emotion. You cannot simply feel angry and be chosen by the Red Lantern Corps. You must well and truly feel rage. It is an odd arrangement, to be sure.

My comment still stands! I'm sure there's someone apathetic enough to be part of the...what color's free, Teal? The Teal Lantern Corps?

By definition, they would not qualify.

[but greed does somehow??? don't talk to him about that one, he doesn't know it exists]

But I have only just learned of a Corps built around love that is fond of possessions so I am open to the possibility of being wrong. We are, I'm afraid, quite removed from the rest.

Weaponized greed...well, can't say that's entirely new.

You should lay off the hermit thing a bit more in your world, so that you can learn more about the other Corps and tell me of them.

[Saint Walker laughs.]

You can no longer accuse me of being a hermit! I spent my days engaging in interplanetary travel. My days of isolation are over -- which is likely for the better.

[He misses it, sometimes. The isolation of it should have been lonely, and indeed it was, but he had also grown a sense of peace that has been thoroughly dismantled here. One of these days, he'll simply leave for a week at a time, regain his bearings, but now is not that time.]

But you must understand that I dwell in Frontier Space. The places where the other Lanterns dwell... it would take far, far more time to travel there than I currently possess. And it is Frontier Space that I believe needs my help.
