Honestly, I'm not sure why any of you are quite surprised that this happened. War is never clean. Besides, why fight a messy battle within trenches when you can cut off the enemy's limb cleanly without risk to your own people?

It's the pragmatic solution in the end so why not just live with the outcome. People fight and murder to protect what's theirs and this land was only looking to protect their investment or rather, us.

Besides, it makes for quite a show.

I don't really have a stake in all this stuff, but I kind of agree. In war you have to be decisive or you're gonna lose.

Even if they aren't risking their own people in their army, they're still hurting or killing others with these...these bombs. That doesn't make it okay and I can't see how anyone could 'just live with the outcome'.

Does it matter? That's war. In any conflict either side will spill blood for their cause. Innocent or not.

Besides, can you truly call anyone innocent?

We don't need to resort to war, to fighting, if people would just talk about things. Kids shouldn't need to get hurt or killed because of this, just because of where they happen to live getting involved in fighting.

[He's seen too much fighting already. Seen the resulting malevolence only fueling the Lord of Calamity because of it, even when Sorey himself tried to step in and prevent things getting worse.]

Now that's just blindly optimistic if I felt like being generous, but no. That's naive.

Adults, grown ups will fight over the pettiest of things and they will destroy the lives of anyone to get what they want.

They don't care of the well being of children in another land. They're only looking out for their own interests.

It's like a chess board. Their people, their army, even to an extent, imports, are nothing more than pieces to their grand game.

Maybe I am optimistic and naive. But even so....I could never accept that. I know I might not quite be aware of the whole situation since I only recently arrived, but still.

Whether you can accept it or not is sadly irrelevant to the powers that be. They'll do as they wish, as they always do.

Ending a war is no excuse to sacrifice innocent people.

So you say. But, leaders always look for what's good for the many and not the few.

Or in this case, what's good for their own little interests. You can say it's no excuse until you're out of breath it doesn't make it any less true that people will forever do it.

No, but I'll do what I can to stop it from happening.

And what will you do? Hm? The only true solution here is to just wrestle power from both opposing forces and cease the fighting that way. Otherwise, you'll have to take the path set out before us: war.

If that's what needed to be done to stop people from dying, I'd do it. If someone is recklessly throwing away the lives of their own people they don't deserve to be in power anyway.
