[When the feed flickers to life, on the screen is a wide-eyed girl in her late teens; she'd look pretty normal, if it wasn't for her eyes and bright pink hair. To some, she may be a familiar face.]

Oh my gosh, hi, um, Network! [Her accent is faintly Welsh.] It's been, like, a really long time since I was last here so maybe you guys won't remember me, but I was definitely here before, and I mean I can't say I really missed this place but some of you were pretty cool, so it'll be nice to see you again--

[And that's when a different voice cuts in from the background, way deeper, very not Welsh, and sounding vaguely like it's coming from someone with rocks in their throat. Because it is.] Are you making a post? Is this like a superhero Youtube thing? I wanna be in it too! [What looks like a big grey stone wall slides into frame behind the girl. At least that's what it looks like until it. Bends over. And now there's some kind of big stony head in the frame over her shoulder.] Yo! What's up, nerds? I'm Rockslide, and the weird foreign girl here is Pixie! We're with the X-Men and if you wanna like our video and subscribe to our channel--

[With that the girl shoves the strange rock-being in what seems to be the equivalent of a shoulder in an attempt to get him to move over. It goes about as well as you'd expect a teen girl shoving a strange rock-being. In fact, she barely even fits in the screen anymore.]

Santo! I mean--Rockslide! This is my video! Go make your own video! [It's no use, she's been totally upstaged.] They already know who I am, that's why I’m re-introducing myself, not just plain old introducing myself! There's a big difference!

You don't need to re-introduce yourself, everyone's gonna remember the pink haired girl with wings! It's way more important that people meet me and know how much of a cool guy I am. [Santo clears his throat to go back to his Professional Youtube Guy voice, leaning in more and thus taking up more of the screen real estate. Because he's an asshole.] And for all the single ladies out there, you can hit me up with a private message any time and we can totally set up someth--

[Yeah, Megan's completely out of frame by now, and she's not real happy about it. Plus, Santo's bulk is muffling her voice, the nerve.] I can’t believe you’re using my video to try and chat up girls!

[--And then the screen goes blank. Did she shut it off on purpose? Did one of them turn it off on accident while wrestling for focus? The world may never know.]

[Santo frowns but at least the feed ending gets him to stop crowding Megan.] Hey! I wasn't done with that!

[She makes a deliberately slow effort to smooth herself out after their wrestling before she responds. Her mood is about as ruffled as her hair's become.]

You know they gave you your own device, right? Like, so you could make your own posts?

[Showing you're ruffled is just showing weakness to master troll Santo "inconsistently spelled last name" Vaccarro.] Yeah, but I feel like I'm gonna break that thing every time I touch it. [The frown disappears back into a big grin, and he shrugs.] And it was more fun this way! We're having fun, right?

Oh, wow.

It's, uh... It's good to see you again, Megan. [ Jury's out on Rockslide. ] Welcome back.

Thanks, Laurie! It's good to see you again t--

--oh my God!

[Abruptly, the screen shuts off once again. Uh, sorry about these guys.]

[Megan looks at the screen, without moving for a moment or so, reluctant to turn and actually face Santo. She knows that he knew Laurie better than she did, even if they weren't close. She really should have thought of this beforehand.]

Um, Santo? I... I think I forgot to tell you about Laurie.

[That's.............. actually a fair concern, and now she feels like a dumb insensitive moron for not realizing it.

Also, she won't lie, as infuriating as Santo is always, she's really glad he's here with her this time, if she has to be here again. She was never all that close to David, and he's such a stiff. At least Santo knows how to have a good time.

She fights a grin spreading across her face, and isn't entirely successful.]

Yeah. Yeah, I guess it is kind of fun.

[He raises a rocky eyebrow. If Megan's acting like this, it's probably serious so maybe he should be serious too. For a second.] Uh, Laurie? Which Laurie? Laurie who? [Because of course she can't mean Laurie Laurie, Nori's team's Laurie, the Laurie who made him cry once, the Laurie who-]

[Megan just fidgets at first, like if she can put this off long enough it'll magically resolve itself and she won't have to have the hard conversation.

But of course it doesn't work like that.]

Laurie Collins. [It comes out small and quiet.] She's, um, she's here too.

[You know. Alive.]

Damn right it is! [He can see that proto-grin. That means he's basically won. Those are the rules.] How did you even survive here without me last time? Must have been totally boring.

[ O...kay, then. Whoops? ]

I guess I'll call back later.

[She's definitely full on smiling now.] It totally was! Oh my God, I had a house with David. You know, Prodigy David? I kept wishing you or Victor or Jubes or Cess or Hisako were there so we could at least go clubbing instead of reading textbooks or whatever it is he does for fun.

[That's exactly what he didn't want to hear.]

Oh.

[Santo rubs the back of his head, looking around, half not wanting to look at Megan when she's sad because that's just going to make him realize he is too, and half wanting to think about any possible other thing than everything that happened immediately post-M-Day.

He falls back against a nearby wall with enough force to make dust rain down from the bricks.]

Damn. [That's all he's got.]

Uh. Hey, Laurie. What's up?

[Yep, he's not being an asshole. This is awkward.]

[Santo snorts.] Seriously? He wasn't too busy hanging out with his Not-Avengers that we had to bail out? [That's not...that's not what happened, Santo.] Or maybe like shoving himself into a locker?

[ Oop. Here we are again. ]

Nothing much. Or, well... I guess there's lots of stuff up, but that's a lot of explaining and it's miserable, and-- Yeah.

Sorry, I-- Megan was here before, you know? I thought just saying hi wouldn't be too weird.

Yeah. [She feels as awkward as Santo does, and for about the same reason. Santo's not supposed to be sad ever, he's the person who always cheers everyone up by being a total idiot. He's supposed to be unflappable.

The only way she knows how to break the tension is to babble, which is probably the exact wrong thing to do.]

I mean, it's not so weird, is it? We're X-Men, and they come back f-from the dead all the time. I-It's like a rite of passage or something. She was here the last time I was here too, so there's no reason for--us to be upset about it or anything. It's a good thing, right?

[Except for the fact that talking about it just makes her think of Purifiers. Of her entire squad dying by fire. She's struck again by how selfish it is, since she hardly even knew Laurie. But at the same time it's hard not to dwell.]

Nah, it's cool, it's not weird at all. [A beat.] Okay, that's a crappy lie. It's totally weird, but. Y'know. It'll stop being weird eventually? [Trying to convince himself there.]

[Just as abruptly, the screen activates again. Sorry, Laurie, if things have to be awkward for them, they have to be awkward for you, too.]

Hi again. Um. Sorry about that. I, um, I kind of forgot to tell Santo about you.

[ Sasha just gasps and points to Megan. She remembers you!! ]

Oh, we actually did hang out with them a bit! Though I didn't know them at the time. It was a while ago. Though thinking about it, I think some of them knew who I was anyway? Like, they remembered stuff I didn't, but that I do remember now?

[Does that make any sense? She's pretty sure that doesn't make any sense.]

It's like that time that Xavier's son made everybody think they were evil and that he was really hot but it was all a dream or something, like, I kind of remember it happening but I also remember it not happening. Or I remember when it hadn't happened yet, and--the point is that David was still hanging with the junior Avengers. They're pretty cool, actually.

[It's still a scar they're all going to have for the rest of their lives, and it's never going to stop hurting. Santo's normally better at laughing it off - just like literally everything else - but he's been so much more aware of things lately that he can't help but think that maybe in this particular moment that's a bad thing.

But Megan's reaction tells him she doesn't need New Thoughtful Santo, she needs Regular-ass Santo. Also, the babbling gets annoying real quick and he really needs to stop that now.]

Yeah, you're right. Dead people walking around is regular ol' X-Men crap, just like getting kidnapped to alternate dimensions. [He steps away from the wall, rapidly regaining his normal Santo-y composure.] It'd be more messed up if things were normal, right?

[And Megan remembers Sasha!! This is demonstrated by a high-pitched squeal resembling a dog whistle.]

Oh my gosh! Hi! It's giant girl! How have you been?

[Wait, it's probably not very sensitive to refer to her that way, considering.]

[A blank stare. Like just ten seconds of blank staring as he mentally tries to catch up with everything she just said before zoning out, forgetting it all, wondering if pizza exists in this reality, remembering that there's supposed to be a conversation happening, and then just going with the last comment there.]

Well, I guess they're okay if you don't have any real superheroes around. Like me. Or Spider-Man.
