006 ✿ Video
One year ago today, I arrived in this world. One year ago today, I shared a fateful drink in De Chima with the man who would become the love of my life. One year ago, there were different faces in this world -- different people to greet me upon my arrival, but many are and have remained the same.
[ Raina smiles a sappy smile. She is genuinely happy for the experiences she's had here and people she's met. ]
There have been a lot of ups and downs, especially as of the past few months. But I would be lying if I said that being in this world hasn't been a largely positive experience for me. And while it's sad to think all of it can be gone and forgotten faster than we can blink, that just means we should try to appreciate what we do have here all the more, doesn't it?
[ She leans forward, warm and inviting. ]
So I'd like to hear about your positive experiences. What are some of the best things that have happened to you here? What opportunities have arisen for you here that you would not have gotten back home? What friends did you make that you never would have met otherwise? And for people who have ported in recently, what opportunities do you hope this world will bring you?
We're so focused on the bad things or getting back home to our responsibilities or the people who aren't here that we often neglect to stop and appreciate the little things. Even if it's something as simple as getting to taste strawberry ice cream for the first time. So let's take a moment to share our experiences with each other.
[ A pause. ]
Also while I have you here -- a few months ago I was speaking to a friend of mine and we were talking about how it's possible to port out and return without memories of ever having been in this world. I brought up the idea of writing a letter to ourselves detailing our time here and he proposed that we try to see if the government would include those in the files we're given upon our arrival. If people overall think it's a good idea, I can talk to a few representatives to see if it can be done. I just know that there are people and things here that I would not want to forget, and I'm sure a lot of people feel the same.
And I think that's about all I have to say. I look forward to hearing your stories. Even if we can't have our letters included in our files, maybe this post could serve as a little something for our future selves to look back on and see how happy we once were if ever there's a time when that is forgotten.

private;
I'm okay, Frederick. I've had a great deal of time to come to terms with my fate. Unless.
[ A pause. And she asks the following question gently. Chilton has dealt with a world full of murder and murderers. He's seen and experienced some extremely horrifying things. He is not such a sensitive man when it comes to those subjects. But maybe. When it comes to thinking about her death. Because she matters to him. Maybe the thought of her not being alive any longer haunts him more than he wants to let on. ]
Unless this is about you coming to terms with it?
private;
[Regardless of her death, which only made the stark contrast more pronounced, more heart-aching.]
What have we been escaping all this while?
private;
[ There's a bit of despair in her tone. What have they been escaping, indeed. ]
But you have a life ahead of you. A full life. And I'm glad to know that while you have been a victim, you will never be a casualty.
[ Then, with a little laugh: ]
Maybe I died back home so I could somehow find my way to Baltimore with you.
private;
[The idea of Raina no longer existing in any world was corrosive to him. With a clearing of his throat, Chilton focused on the implicit factor that led to Raina's demise: Daisy, formally Skye.]
There is something you should know. Last week, when some of our number had experienced a most bizarre mass amnesia, I encountered Skye. She was losing control and wouldn't listen to reason -- she is irresponsible always, it seems.
I had to sedate her.
private;
[ You can practically hear her eyes roll. ]
That seems to be a common theme when it comes to her. Your heroics will likely be twisted into something else. Look at how she's acting toward me even after my sacrifice. With suspicion. As though I actually care about her life and who she chooses to sleep with or befriend or form an alliance with.
private;
private;
Now that she has knowledge of your ability, she will likely spread that knowledge to everyone she can. You should have let her die.
[ The frown can be heard in her voice. ]
I hate to think of you losing your defensive edge. Especially when so many would try to bring you harm.
private;
[His mistake to have given her the benefit of the doubt, even for a moment.]
Well -- Skye be damned. I'll ensure that Power Girl knows to watch out for her, as Skye has only made her job more difficult.
[Chilton had hired out security. Only the best and brightest.]
private;
[ There's a hint of resentment in her tone. But she pushes it aside for a more honest emotion. ]
I don't care about her either way. Her life here has no meaning to me. And that she thinks it does is only further proof of her being selfish and entitled as you said. She has meddled more in our lives here, than we have in hers. Yet, we are the ones who get the accusations and blame.
[ There's a sigh, but then Raina's tone warms as she recalls their very first conversation about Skye many months ago. ]
Tell me again how I'm Peitho and she's a nameless nymph?
private;
[He wants to reassure Raina, to embrace her with confidence.]
You're a goddess, Raina. Peitho had her own cult, and you do, too. A majestic parallel.
private;
I'm sure she already has to some people.
[ "Some people" being Jesse Pinkman. ]
private;
private;
[ And she doesn't simply mean about her grace and beauty. She means that he can see right through people like Skye where other people are blind. If only he had that same sort of insight when it came to Will Graham. ]
My brilliant, beautiful man. Happy anniversary.
[ Because technically, they did come together and share their first kiss on this day last year. ]
private;
I have rented a thing in New York for us.
private;
private;
And fully furnished.
private;
private;
[Tee hee, he thinks.]
private;
[ Her words are mockingly chiding. She can imagine this is just him using clever wordplay to drop his hints. ]
private;
private;
private;
[Was that a bondage pun?
Yes.]
private;
Well, I will go pack my things, then. Should we do dinner tonight? To celebrate the best year of our lives?
[ Just arrogantly assuming Chilton's life is a hundred times better because she's in it. ]
private;
Dinner will be absolutely mandatory.
private;
[ But elsewhere, she will. Because she has totally caught on to his not-so-subtle hints. ]
