Names hold importance in my world; they are not given without reason. [This is a sore subject for her in particular.] Generally speaking, Elves are given a mother name and...or...a father name. Thus they begin life with two or three names.

I...only have one and it is...rather simple by Elvish customs. I have considered giving myself a new one in addition.

[Her life has changed dramatically. It seems to call for a new moniker.]

Egledhron has occurred - it means exile in Sindarin - but Nainie appeals too. [She takes a breath. Both names are depressing, yet she cannot associate herself with good anymore.] Can you think of positive words for me?

That is also highly appropriate. In Standard, the language of the Humans of my reality, Eden was the name of the garden where the first man and woman were to have lived and later exiled according to a widely held belief. It symbolized paradise, a place of pristine or abundant natural beauty.

As an Elf gains a new name, it becomes a...nickname of sorts. Friends and family keep track of names and they can choose which they prefer.
