Saying who I am would rather defeat the purpose of being anonymous, but I will explain why I'm making this post. I, and several other imPorts were concerned by events since the end of the Russian invasion. So we worked together to do some research- namely, to find out what happened to Lacey Chases, and to learn what we could about President Freemason.

This is what we learned:

Lacey Chases has been indicted for treason, and is apparently serving time in a small private facility in Washington. There is some evidence that this is actually true- correspondence was found between her and a porter scientist who was also arrested. Chases was warning them about an imPort attack on the Porter during the occupation. We couldn't find much more, since Chases normally used other channels of communication- that was the only time she slipped up.

In theory, she could have been framed, but I can't see and proof that she was.

As for our glorious leader, President Kira Freemason...

We know where she was born, and when. We know she majored in Quantum Engineering and English at Yale before studying law at Columbia, the law firm she worked at, and the political positions she held in her political career. We know she entered Congress as a reformer- wanting to punish corporate corruption, scrutinize tax reform, and generally increase government transparency. She even argued against the need for a police state! But when she was elected Speaker of the House, she seems to have grown quieter on many of those points.

What we don't know is anything about her personal life- or the period between her being elected Speaker and running for President on platform of economically and socially securing the country from Communism and the USSR. Any information about those two things have been censored- all we found were sheets upon sheets of completely censored documents.

If anyone has any further questions, I'll try to answer them

During the course of your research, did any other names come up when digging into Freemason's past? Any colleagues? Associates? Supporters? Anyone notable who may have supported her and her views?

The most notable was Lucus Schwab- he was her campaign manager, and is now her PR manager.

I don't suppose you and your allies have any dirt on him, as well.

Not yet. We're not going to stop digging.

Nor should you. I know a few other names who might be connected, but unfortunately these are only suspicions, and I don't wish to voice them until I have some more facts to back them up. Needless to say, you aren't the only one with digging to do.

It seems that what happened in the eighties isn't as buried as some would think.

It sounds like you have a theory. Do you mind sharing with the class?

I think some of the people the last group of imPorts kicked out of power might be working to sneak back into power.

But so far, it's only a theory.

It's a sound theory, though. If tensions with the Russians grow worse, then they may not even need to sneak in; the public, if manipulated in the right direction, might welcome them with open arms.

That was apparently how they got in the first time, after all.

And do you think conflict could be engineered, perhaps?

Not invented out of whole cloth, but they could have easily taken what tension was there and made it worse.

Certainly. Though I wonder if there's anyone on the Soviet side who has as much to gain from this as certain individuals on our side.

Kostya Sitnikov, perhaps? Or the military.

That's as good a start as any. While we should continue looking into the American side of things, it might be wise to see what, if anything, can be found on the Soviets... starting with anyone who has potential connections to Chases and the Porter scientist. I have a theory myself, but I want to see what the facts back up before sharing a potential false lead.

That can't be usual. Even in the Cold War age, there'd be interest in what politicians were doing and who they had been. Perhaps even more so.

That said, investigating senior US officials like this will hardly go unnoticed. I hope you and your friends know what you're doing.

Given previous attempts at research, massive amounts of censorship aren't surprising.

And we were careful. But I'm more surprised by what we learned about Chases.

That she was some sort of spy?

You know you have to be careful with that kind of a find. Especially when so much else is redacted. Can you be sure that what you found was accurate, and not planted to make you think she was an enemy? This country is at war, after all.

Censorship is bound to be a priority, and where you find that, you'll find false trails too.

I haven't ruled out the possibility that she's been framed. Still, if they wanted to plant evidence, they probably would have included more than one piece of evidence- it wouldn't have raised suspicion, and would have made things more convincing. This government is powerful, but they're rarely subtle.

Of course, this isn't the end of it. Someone needs to contact Chases through means outside the government, and see what she has to say for herself.

Getting hold of her at all would be something of a challenge, whether she is what she seems to be or not. It's very unlikely they're not watching her communications. What is it that you think is happening, exactly? I'm not really here for conspiracy theories, but it's obvious you're hinting at something.

We're imPorts. I'm sure some of us can work something out.

I'm not sure what's happening, but I have suspicions. We know that many of the people in power in the nineteen-eighties- the one who were kicked out by the first group of imPorts- were never identified. I think some of them may be working their way back into power.

And if they are, what do you propose we do about it? Imports can’t be kingmakers. It’s not up to us to say who should be in power and who should not.

We shouldn't act on our own. The previous group of imPorts worked in concert with the native opposition, but not solely under their direction.

But from everything people know and have seen of the government at that time, and how they treated their citizens, the last group of imPorts made the right choice.

Is that what you're suggesting, then? That imports set themselves, ourselves, against the government.

Political opposition. The very thing some of them are already accusing us of.

As of yet? No.

And the reason for those accusations is that there are some in the government who see any refusal of their requests as opposition.

Yes, I'm very much aware of that. I'm not overly keen to make the rumors true, not least because there's no actual proof for any of what you've surmised.

You have done us all great service in taking the risk of exposing these truths.

It is difficult to believe that any authority could be so inept as to have two enemy spies in charge of its defense, one after the other... but supposedly, Lacey Chases and Janice Sublime were both traitors. And this is the government whose "democratic" leader has seen fit to erase most of her past from the public record, without any opposition or outcry- the government we are expected to swear our loyalty to.

I am afraid that the scent of conspiracy is thick in the air. I hope you and your allies are cautious as you continue this investigation. There are powerful forces that may go to great lengths to conceal these facts.

What's actually happening at the trial, and whether Chases being framed or not. If she isn't, I want to know her reasons for betraying her country, and if she is, I want to know who's responsible and why they did it.

A fine course of action. If possible, might I suggest also looking into the trial of the other Secretary: Sublime? Great secrecy has surrounded her case as well. It is such an odd thing, for two such highly ranked officials to both be revealed as traitors in such quick succession.

I agree, it's a little too odd to be believable.

Let me ask you this, then. If there is indeed a conspiracy penetrating into the authorities which govern us, how will you thwart them? Will you go to the media? To the police? Or will you take action on your own?

'Sll of the above' is an option, isn't it?

Certainly it is: if you feel you can trust the media to report truthfully on the facts. If you believe you can depend on the police to pursue justice and evidence.

Were I in your position, my anonymous friend, I would think very hard about those questions before making a final decision.
