 So,  I guess a few things recently have gotten me wondering about something.  Just curious, you know?  

[Actually he was a lot more than just curious. But he was trying to be just a little sneaky about this. You know, get the information without admitting to being part-ghost himself.]

How many of you have met ghosts back home? And what were they like?

Um, also one more thing. Anyone know how long you can completely fail at a job before you get fired?  Because I am seriously terrible at mine.

Are they really bored?

[Because Danny was just a little stuck on the idea of ghosts needing to go to a medium to say anything. He was used to ghosts that never shut up. To anyone. ]

Often they're boring. More often, they're needy, and my husband and I seem to be the only ones who can solve their problems. It can get quite tiresome.

[Sadie is a generous soul. But constantly having their special drinking time interrupted can wear on her.]

I can imagine.

[Danny had a hard enough time dealing with all the ghosts back home that were after him to pick a fight. It only got worse when they insisted on dragging him into their personal problems. ]

If you told them to go away, would they listen?

They haven't so far, though we do always find a way to have privacy once more, eventually. But ghosts certainly can be persistent. Why do you ask, dear?

[He rubs at the back of his head. ]

Just curious, really. There's a lot of ghosts back home, and they tend to be- Well, I'm not sure if noisy is the right word. Loud? Obnoxious? Public Nuisances?

All of the above?

[Sadie has a kind heart, but she feels for the poor child.]

What have you tried to be rid of them so far?

Kind of. And sometimes it gets worse.

[Danny shrugs nervously and lies. Because admitting that he turned into a ghost and fought them himself wasn't really an option.]

Uh, usually everyone just waits for one of the local ghost hunters to show up and deal with it.

Are there very many? Oh dear. There must be quite a demand.

[Those poor ghosts! Those poor living people.]

....My town has so many ghost attacks that they have a section on the nightly news. Right after the weather report.

My goodness! Whyever are your ghosts so angry?

....Uh, I don't know if they're angry, exactly. I mean, the Lunch Lady gets mad whenever someone changes the school cafeteria menu, and Kitty's usually angry at Johnny whenever she shows up. But most of them are just bored. Or they want something from humans.

Oh. How very mundane. That doesn't sound worth being hunted, though.

Well, just as an example, when the lunch lady gets upset she attacks the school cafeteria as a forty foot tall meat monster, and buries it in several tons of frozen meat.

That's...very unnusual.

Not really.

[He starts counting off.]

Ember tried to brainwash the entire planet into being a music fanclub, Boxy keeps trying to take over the world with boxes and bubblewrap, Technus likes to attack the city with giant robots.... Oh, and a couple of weeks ago a plant ghost tried to turn the whole planet into a garden and turn all the humans into fertilizer. Apparently his mind control vines tasted like chlorophyll.

I'm just so sad we will never see a real crossover between these canons now

Well they would, wouldn't they? It's only sensible for a plant ghost.

[Which she has never personally encountered, and to be honest, Sadie is still trying to keep up with all this. But she's nothing if not chipper, even in the face of a deluge of information about the oddest sort of ghosts!]

Is it very boring for you to be here with no rude ghosts? Or something of a relief?

[For her, it's been a little of both.]

DP should just cross over with all ghost canons

....Honestly? It's kind of a like a vacation here.

[He wouldn't admit that he was starting to get twitchy at how long he'd gone without a ghost attack. Funny the things you could get used to. ]

Well in that case, do enjoy yourself, dear. A vacation should be enjoyed.
