[The video comes on, just a bit crooked, to show a scrawny teenager sitting in tall grass. He gives the camera a business-like nod, and then holds up a piece of paper, covered in blocky, red writing, to the lens.]

This is my bucket list.

[Self-explanatory, from the title.]

Who can help me with any of it? [He tilts it back to scan the list again.] Like, I'm pretty sure fireworks will be pretty easy, but I don't really know where to find a red panda. [A little nose wrinkle.] ... Or a volcano.

[That's it. That's the broadcast. He gives the camera a boyish smile and a thumbs up.]

[ Gansey grins right back. ]

I think it’s bigger than it looks.

[ No, but it’s literally bigger than it looks. Ronan had made it bigger on the inside. Gansey does wonder if that’s a backhanded commentary about the Pig’s passenger capacity, but he’s not going to complain. ]

Anyway, we could always hire something. If you really wanted to get close, we could try hiring a helicopter. And a pilot, given that Helen’s unavailable.

[ Those things cost money, Gansey. Listen, he's fresh from home. He's used to not needing to worry about that, okay. ]

[Whatever the cost, Noah is excited at the prospect. His face lights up.]

I always wanted to ride in a helicopter! It was hard to stay in Helen's, with all the wind.

I never thought of that. Well, let's do it! I'd like to, you know I love to fly. I'm sure we could manage it, it can't be that difficult.

Don't you have to have some kind of license?

[I mean. Not that he really minds. But just checking.]

If you're planning to fly it, you do. I was planning to pay someone to -

[ Wait. Back this up a little. ]

Are you saying you want to actually fly the helicopter?

[His eyebrows go up, and he can't help but laugh.]

No, no. I was worried about you flying it!

Oh. [ Gansey grins. ] Well, so you should be. I didn't survive past a few lessons. Did I ever tell you about that? The skill definitely doesn't run in the family.

[Noah snorts, shaking his head.]

Did you crash one?

[quaerit]

[ Gansey laughs. ]

I did not, thanks to the intervention of my very attentive co-pilot. I never got to the stage of solo flight.

Probably a good outcome for all.

Hey, everyone's got to be bad at something.

[Admittedly, he's always idealized Gansey a bit. He has most of what Noah doesn't - a grand life, a girlfriend, and he's handsome. Knowing that he can't fly a helicopter to save his life is almost comforting.]

Yes, well. Not all that useful for our purposes.

Hiring one is still an option.

[ If he cannot do it, he will throw money at it. Let it not be said he doesn’t have a Plan B. ]
