[Hi, everyone. Have a view focused on a tray of fresh, hot pastries.]

While I was making these, I had a thought. Everybody here has obviously originally come from all sorts of different times and places, which makes for a lot of interesting conversations. Despite being someone who enjoys cooking and baking, I've never really asked about differences in food. So, if you feel like sharing the information, tell about your favorite dishes from your original universes. I'm curious.

Those things that you just saw are called kiflice. They're sweet pastries, and some of my favorite things to make and eat. I've filled some with hazelnut spread and the others with plum jam; you can fill them with anything you want, really, but those are my two favorite fillings for them.

where are kiflice from?

They're from Europe, more specifically southeast/eastern. I came from a country called Sokovia, though, which was located in eastern Europe.

Nothing wrong with simple. Sometimes a tuna fish sandwich can be pretty good.

That's definitely a kind I need to try more. Well, try eating. I'd probably be awful at making it my first time, so I'd not want that to be one of my first experiences with it.

Well, since I can't smash them through the video screen and make them deliver that way, that depends if you feel like making a trek to the Nonah apartment complex, because I just put a second tray in. That's about as immediately as possible.

Yeah? Because I'm definitely up for it.

I might even be willing to give up a couple of my granny's baking tips in exchange. She did it professionally for years, you know. Won awards for her gooseberry tarts and everything.

Those look excellent. I don't think I've ever had kiflice before, actually.

I'd have to say my favorite - although technically this isn't from my universe - but the best I've ever encountered is Serodche blue cheese. Bit of a misnomer, it's actually purple, but their language doesn't have separate words for the two... Sadly, you can only get it in Dimension Ectru, and I'm fairly certain I'm not allowed back.

Huh, purple? Well, at least it's really hard to go wrong with cheese. Does it taste anything like the blue cheese, as in the salad dressing?

Yes, please. That'd be fantastic.

It's nothing at all like the salad dressing. Even Earth's blue cheeses are a lot stronger than that. Ectruan cheeses actually have a more umami taste to them, a little less tang. Alien molds, you see.

Friend of mine makes the best damn cookies you ever had and she makes them outta shit you wouldn't think were possible to make cookies outta. Can stretch a chocolate bar for days, too.

I ain't got much in the way of favorites. But one of the ones where I'm from is pickled pig's feet.

Sounds like some serious talent she's got. I've only ever used sugar, eggs, that kind of stuff for cookies.

Can't say I've ever had pickled pigs feet either -- but it sounds like it could be pretty good. Is it served with anything else?

Don't really got access to those kinds of things no more. Sugar and proper flour. Chickens do well enough on the egg front. She makes due.

Not usually. Not if it's pickled. Usually just eat it straight out of the jar. But there're things you can do with it. Cut them up and fry them like dumplings if you got the oil for it. Same as anything else you can do with freshly cut pigs feet, really.

It's been so long since I cooked anything that I can barely remember what I enjoyed making when I was young.

I do love a good steak. Rare.

No shame in that - I'll definitely admit to getting takeout a few times when I was in upstate New York and too tired to move any more for the day.

I feel like there's no other way to east steak than that.

You know me well - of course I did. Since when do I do moderation when it comes to baking things? Well, actually I don't do moderation when it comes to doing anything, but that is ... not the point. The point is, yes I have too much already and yes you can have a bunch.
