[Trucy looks uncharacteristically fired up as she appears on the video. Her fists are clenched in front of her and she looks almost frantic, though is doing her best to keep that carefully hidden behind determination.]

Okay, listen up everyone! I have an extremely important announcement to make! No matter what you hear on the news, no matter how bad it looks, my daddy Phoenix Wright did NOT rob a nightclub! He's innocent! They've locked up an innocent man!

[She shakes her head rapidly, and in a very quick motion, swipes at her eyes with one of her gloved hands.]

They put a report on the news tonight about it and there's a video, but it's a lie! It- It's totally ridiculous! My daddy is the kindest, gentlest man in the world! He wouldn't hurt a fly! He'd never point a gun at people and steal from them!

Daddy can't even say no to the kids who come around selling candy bars! The very idea that he'd yell at strangers and demand their money is...

[Again, she shakes her head, then looks even more determined.]

By the way- I need some help with something. I need help from someone who can bake a cake.

And I also need to borrow a 4x4 truck and a set of chains-- and I need someone to drive the truck!

[... better not loan her those things.]

[She switches the feed over to private and immediately lets herself look a little less chipper and put-together.]

It's Daddy. In the video. I'm definitely sure of it.

But he's not... moving right. He walks strangely, and his grip on the gun-- it's like someone who knows what he's doing.

I see. Does he...speak with anyone?

He yells at some people, but you can't really hear it in the video. It's kind of a loud place. And I can't see exactly what he's saying because he's not facing the camera.

How did you get your hands on the video, anyway?

It's just the clip they're showing on the news. There's probably a longer version that they're using to investigate, but I haven't seen that one, obviously.

I see. Forgive me. I'd rather thought that perhaps you'd...Well.

[He clears his throat, cutting that thought off; he does not want to give any indication that he thinks that possibly stealing evidence to examine it is anything close to all right. She gets enough moral relativism from her father, God knows; it falls to him to always try to counteract that.]

No matter. I'm looking into this, Trucy; I promise.

Would you like to stay with me while your dad isn't home?

[Ooh, that's a knowing little smile she gives him.] I'm not THAT good, Uncle Miles. That'd be more of Kay's specialty.

[Now of course, the question of whether or not she would have asked Kay to snatch the footage for her were Kay not imprisoned is a totally different matter.]

Thanks for the offer. Miss Mia was going to rent a movie for us tonight, but... maybe tomorrow? I need to keep you company too, after all.
