I would be happy if you'd do me the honor of answering a few questions.
First, I would have it known how a doctor sets about establishing their license to practice. Is it the case that such legality is established upon entrance to this world? I highly doubt any sane medical council would permit an unlicensed physician to remain in post, as negligence is surely as endemic in this world as anywhere else. Pertinently, what funding is available for research fellowships, or starting one's own practice?
Second, might those of you with an appreciation of medical science be willing to permit me to make an account of your state of health? A physical examination with all that's entailed. Were I so fortunate as to receive your participation in medical screening, I dare say that it would assist the future treatment of everyone.
Please do me the honor of withholding your response if it fails to address either point in question. You have my gratitude, in any case.
[Do reply though. That's just his ego showing.]

The first thing I want to ask about is your medical background. Would you call yourself more of a general practitioner, or an experimental researcher? Or something else?

Neurology, to be precise. My research is simply to develop treatment, so that I might insert a spark of being into those who would otherwise lose it.

When I was subsequently appointed to lead medical research, it was with the sole remit of improving the lives of the citizenry... who had been subject to years of subjugation. I will endeavour to explain that my results were favorable and leave it there.
Otherwise, my research was independent; no independent powers became involved. I simply wouldn't permit it. I have spent all my time attending to the mistakes of such nonsense.
To answer your second question, I look to return the spark of hope. To return to them a sense of being that are not a chimera but themselves, entirely. Does that answer satisfy you?

You're going to have to give me a little more on the second part. What do you mean by 'chimeras?' It sounds like you're talking about some level of emotional health, not physical medicine.

Simply put, chimaeras are the unwanted waste of scientific curiosity. I keep no terms with those who cannot view their patients as human beings. Does that answer your question?

If that's the kind of science you're about, I don't have any problem letting you examine me. I'm Jacob Taylor, by the way.
[Jacob's aware that he's taking this person at his text-only word here, but he seems so earnest and passionate about kindness that it feels like he's earned a chance.]

So I take it the government assigned you something weird instead of just making you a doctor, didn't they?

Oh yeah. You have no idea. But you'll get used to it soon enough.

In the meanwhile, I shall go and get on with business. Thank you again for your assistance, Jacob.

[OOC: for the record, Victor's examination of Jacob will reveal that he is 1. shredded as fuck and exceptionally healthy 2. has the standard oddities associated with imPorts, i.e. nanites, and 3. has a cybernetic implant in the base of his skull that is necessary to use his powers.]
