[The first image you'll get to see on this particular video feed is pretty much a real detailed view of someone's eyes. They're way too close to the screen and you can almost see the individual flecks of deep brown when the image isn't blurred thanks to this guy moving more than a little bit. The individual responsible for such a sight is trying his damndest to figure out how the hell this thing works, how you can send messages or even videos on something that's very pointedly NOT shaped like a snail, and how you even know if it was working or not.

Eventually it seems like he's stopped caring, or decided that on sheer force of will alone that it's working. Because the feed pulls back and you can see this very 'good dog' expression on a very simple-looking man. A scar under his eye, and a rather ratty old straw hat perched atop his head.]

The food's really good here! And I wasn't even yelled at when I ate a lot, either, and I like that. [The crowd hadn't been the most fun, but who needed fun when there was food involved.]

An' yanno what? I don't like being away from my crew an' home, but if there's an adventure--Nihihi, then I guess I don't mind stayin' around! [And then that 'good dog' expression melts, as if exposed to heat very suddenly. A frown on his face.]

But there's so much land everywhere! And the ocean is so far away! There's too many buildings and I was told that there aren't any pirate ships here??

That's why living life at sea, on a ship and travelling is better than living on an island. They're tiny and boring... there's so much more to see if you just go looking for it.

I wouldn't mind traveling more someday. Here or back home. To see lots of ruins and learn more history! I just need to figure if there's anything we'd need before hand, here. I'm not sure if it's as simple as back home.

At least, not that I know? I guess merchants like Rose who travel a lot might be the closest I could think of? But I'm not sure if she went overseas for it though. I'm not sure how safe it'd be for me to either. Since I...I never learned how to swim.

History and ruins, huh. Well, I'm not too sure about that sort of stuff myself, but everyone has their own sorts of adventures and stuff they want to see. So you should do it, you know? Figure it out and go as far as you can.

Mikleo? That's a pretty neat name. Is he like your nakama or something?

[His smile is bright and the question even moreso--but he waves his hand.]

Yeah, a hammer! But it's okay. My crewmates are always around to save my butt whenever I accidentally fall in the water. I never get too deep. [Meaning... he's fallen in before lmfao.]

Riku? Oh, I met that guy! He promised to show me the ocean here later!

He's like family. My best friend. It's always been the two of us!

I guess that's like me and Ace, then. [Brothers by bond, not by blood. He can understand it--and he looks pretty dang happy to hear it. The grin on his face definitely suggests so, anyway.]

People here have been pretty great so far. Usually you meet at least one jerk, but so far so good. Shishishi.

Yup! Pretty much. [He doesn't ask who Ace is, the comparison seems to be enough that Sorey simple gives a smile and nod. He's not sure he's heard of an Ace around, but if he does, he'll know to point them to Luffy now.]

I'm sure there's probably still some. But everyone I've met has been pretty nice and helpful, yeah.

[You. It's not as pointed as it actually is--he has no plans on signing up for any such nonsense.]

It'd be weird to find awful people around here, at least.

Well. Sure, a lot of us are registered so we can help out and make use of our powers for good. But not everyone is registered. And some might have....other intentions for their powers I guess. [Or said powers have consequences. Sorey's seen and felt already the beginnings of the burden of the Shepherd back home as it is.]

Well. Iunno if I'm gonna do that registering thing. I'm not a hero, after all. I'm a pirate!

You can't be a hero and a pirate at the same time.

[Even if he's... a very bad example as a pirate. You know. Saving cities, protecting innocents... that kind of thing. Pirate stuff.]

[Sorry Luffy. Sorey doesn't quite get it. He's too fixed on always helping, given his upbringing so he kind of finds it hard or impossible to imagine otherwise.]

But pirates aren't heroes. They're not the good guys. If they were, they'd just be marines. Heroes fight to protect everyone--Pirates fight to protect themselves and their nakama.

Or people they or their.....nakama? Their nakama cared about. So nakama are like the others in your crew?

[Just a guess from the context, thinking it to be something similar to Sorey and his seraphim and Squires or the like.]

Nakama are the family you choose. They're people you care about and travel and live with--but they don't have to be related to you at all.

[Yep. EXACTLY like your Seraphim.]

So Mikleo is my nakama!

[As if he needs more labels or words. He might need to stop and try explain this if he ever uses it in front of the water seraph sometime.]
