[Jacob films this post while standing in front of the white walls of Helix Station in Maurtia Falls, wearing a navy-blue tank top and black shorts. Judging by the sweat visible on his arms, he just finished his exercise for the morning. His ramrod-straight posture projects an image of Official Business that doesn't match his casual tone of voice, or his workout clothes.]

Hey, everyone. I'm Jacob Taylor. I work with RISE: that's an imPort police team, for all you new arrivals out there. I'm putting together something new for the community... kind of a public safety resource. Like the FAQ, but focused on who's causing trouble these days.

So I thought I'd ask: what do you think are the biggest threats around here? Criminals, terrorists, the Soviets? Maybe there's something most of us haven't heard about yet that more people need to know about. It's important to be aware, especially when people might want you dead. There's always something happening under the surface around here.

Oh, and just so we're clear: this is going to be a list focusing on groups, not individual people. So don't bother talking about who your least favourite imPorts are.

[He pauses for a moment, then relaxes his posture as he segues into more civilian matters.]

That's about it for official business. Unofficially... I was wondering if anybody has got suggestions on a good name for a dog.

[He's totally planning to get a dog. Heads up, MF 001 housemates!]

W-wait, imPorts can bring that sort of thing here with them?

[Well, shit. Nothing for it but to hope nobody from home shows up when they had the virus. It's not exactly an encouraging reassurance as far as Yuu is concerned, mostly because all of that was eight years ago that everything changed as a result of the virus back home.]

[Jacob holds up his hands in a comforting gesture.]

Don't worry, it usually doesn't happen. I think the nanites in us help to deal with illnesses. But the Flare was different. It was nasty.

I'd hope the virus back home wouldn't be different too.

[Of course, there is no way to know for sure. Yuu and Mika at the time were too young to be affected by it. So the only way to be sure is if someone else was pulled in. He purses his lips, frowning before turning more.]

The Flare? that's this virus one of the imPorts brought back here?

Yeah. It did crazy things to people. Deformed them, made them aggressive... and hungry. It was a tough time, but we beat it.

What can you tell me about the virus in your world? Any warning signs we might want to look out for?

Deformed them? [He's not sure what to picture at that. But in the end it sounds like they managed. Better than Japan did in the aftermath of their virus back home.]

Our virus...basically killed most all the adults above the age of thirteen. I was eight, when it happened. Was taken underground. For 'protection'.

[If it hits, this time he and Mika won't be able to avoid it. They are over the age of thirteen. Of course, their seraph gene, Mika being a vampire, Yuu part demon, that could factor in but still.]

[And so Jacob is once again confronted by his nemesis- the plethora of imPort universes featuring kids forced into apocalyptic circumstances. His face falls.]

Damn. That's... One of the worst things I've ever heard. I'm sorry.

Hey, the virus -- and the vampires and Horsemen, haven't entirely wiped us out yet. We're still here. Still fighting. It's what humanity does, right?

[It's not something Yuu talks about a lot. But with certain people when it has come up, he's opened up. Little by little. He hasn't even told Jacob the half of it. Not really. But it is a start.]

Yeah. Right. There's always a chance. And I know a lot of people who aren't human who'd agree.

[Trying and thinking not to think about the Reapers.]

So vampires are a problem in your world?

Something like that.

But -- yeah. They took in children to 'protect' them and some others after the virus. In exchange for their blood. We're at war, trying to even the odds with some weapons and tricks up our sleeves but it isn't a guarantee.

[The Cursed Gear utilizing the power of demons, pills to increase their synchronization with said demons, the Seraph of the End experiments. All of it. In attempt to come out on top, fighting over said experiments.]

That's sick. I hope you're able to break free.

[Jacob almost says he's sorry again, but catches himself. He wasn't expecting that world to get worse after every kid on the planet lost their parents, but... well, vampire war.]

You know there are vampires here, right? Ones who aren't a threat?

[Jacob knows RISE needs to become a lot more sensitive to these things after the inquiry.]

Yeah. I'm not sure how it's all gonna play out from where things stand at the moment back home, but. I guess we'll see. Whenever Mika and I get back.

[It's a long story and there's plenty of betrayal and backstabbing and politics bs to go with it.]

Hm? Oh. Yeah. I've talked to one or two of them, I think. They seem different to how vampires are back home. [At least in appearance and in comparison to some powers of sorts. So Yuu seems okay with them? Sort of. And obviously, to him, Mika will always be an exception.]
