[Jacob films this post while standing in front of the white walls of Helix Station in Maurtia Falls, wearing a navy-blue tank top and black shorts. Judging by the sweat visible on his arms, he just finished his exercise for the morning. His ramrod-straight posture projects an image of Official Business that doesn't match his casual tone of voice, or his workout clothes.]

Hey, everyone. I'm Jacob Taylor. I work with RISE: that's an imPort police team, for all you new arrivals out there. I'm putting together something new for the community... kind of a public safety resource. Like the FAQ, but focused on who's causing trouble these days.

So I thought I'd ask: what do you think are the biggest threats around here? Criminals, terrorists, the Soviets? Maybe there's something most of us haven't heard about yet that more people need to know about. It's important to be aware, especially when people might want you dead. There's always something happening under the surface around here.

Oh, and just so we're clear: this is going to be a list focusing on groups, not individual people. So don't bother talking about who your least favourite imPorts are.

[He pauses for a moment, then relaxes his posture as he segues into more civilian matters.]

That's about it for official business. Unofficially... I was wondering if anybody has got suggestions on a good name for a dog.

[He's totally planning to get a dog. Heads up, MF 001 housemates!]

[ Well, she was going to make some petty comment about Sabriel, but if he's ruling out individuals, no reason to bother. ]

Naming a dog is generally an expression of either the owner's personality, or the dog itself. It's not easy to provide a suggestion for a dog I've never met.

Don't suppose we could arrest the Porter for porting out people I really liked having around?

Hmm. That depends. What kind of dog do you have? It'd be good to know its gender before we start pitching names, you know. Just like it is important to know how they look like too.

[Can you tell she is very serious business about naming dogs, Jacob?]

Name that dog Champion to give 'em a good self esteem. Never too early to build confidence.

Or go in the opposite direction and name them Saint Froofles.

What about, uh...

[He's totally not looking for at a list of dog names.]

...Fluffy?

Seems pretty quiet on all three fronts right now. [ Well, other than his roommate and Axel. But he's not about to throw the Rogues, if they could be called either that or a "group" under the bus right now. Oh, what a few months can do. ]

And I like "Sparky".

Why do you need to name a dog...

Vigilantes.

Big dog? Small dog? Lazy dog? Energetic dog? We need more specifics here!

It'd depend on the dog and, personality and how it looks, I think.

Though, will the FAQ focus on groups alone, too?

[He wants to hear everyone bitch about other imPorts, he's not on a ship anymore so he doesn't have juicy scuttlebutt to listen in on. How's he supposed to know what everyone's up to if no one's allowed to bitch about it?]

[But, fine, he can talk about dogs too. Or dog names, anyway.]

So you're hopping on the dog bandwagon too? Hope you're prepared to find dog hair on everything. It's inescapable. Don't wear black.

[ Cullen doesn't know enough about anything in this world to address threats, but he does know dogs. And he can communicate with them now, so he focuses on that. ]

I called mine Pup. [ He follows that with a lopsided smile. He knows it's lacking. ] Now I would simply ask him what he wishes to be called.

[Red is watching all of this post as she tries to get a feel for the world she's been thrust into. But some questions need answers either way...]

What kind of dog?

Aren't most of the people causing bullshit problems imPorts, though..?

[Hazel's (mostly) not trying to be a contrary problem, for once, but she's just saying. the Russians are asleep at the wheel compared to some of their fellow idiots.]

You could name it after me. An infinitely better name than Dorian, I assure you.

Personally, I think the greatest threat isn't a group at all.

RISE, huh? Well, I dunno much on the police and all, that's probably kind of different from the military. But I guess this isn't a bad thing. Seems like all of those groups are causing problems - criminals, Soviets and the terrorists, right? But the normal police guys can probably take care of the usual criminals and terrorists. Assuming they aren't imPorts with their powers.

[Yuu pauses, considering for a moment when Jacob's next 'unofficial' business distracts him.]

I never have owned a pet, actually.

The biggest... I'd have to say the Porter itself. Second is imPorts in general, but obviously the Porter's to blame for that.

Regarding the biggest threats: I'm almost afraid to ask...have many people answered with "Soviets"?
