[Jacob films this post while standing in front of the white walls of Helix Station in Maurtia Falls, wearing a navy-blue tank top and black shorts. Judging by the sweat visible on his arms, he just finished his exercise for the morning. His ramrod-straight posture projects an image of Official Business that doesn't match his casual tone of voice, or his workout clothes.]

Hey, everyone. I'm Jacob Taylor. I work with RISE: that's an imPort police team, for all you new arrivals out there. I'm putting together something new for the community... kind of a public safety resource. Like the FAQ, but focused on who's causing trouble these days.

So I thought I'd ask: what do you think are the biggest threats around here? Criminals, terrorists, the Soviets? Maybe there's something most of us haven't heard about yet that more people need to know about. It's important to be aware, especially when people might want you dead. There's always something happening under the surface around here.

Oh, and just so we're clear: this is going to be a list focusing on groups, not individual people. So don't bother talking about who your least favourite imPorts are.

[He pauses for a moment, then relaxes his posture as he segues into more civilian matters.]

That's about it for official business. Unofficially... I was wondering if anybody has got suggestions on a good name for a dog.

[He's totally planning to get a dog. Heads up, MF 001 housemates!]

[Is it a good or bad thing that someone from RISE knows her name...?]

I'm looking forward to it.

[Jacob catches the hesitation and pauses, wondering if he said something wrong.]

Uh. Is everything okay?

Well, I. I never actually told you my name, but you know it anyways...is that something I should worry about? Since you're in RISE.

[She knows her powers can be terrifying, but she swore to herself never to use them again...]

[His eyes widen for a second, then he chuckles.]

Oh, that. That's just a feature of the Network. Every one has their ID displayed while they're using it, unless they're deliberately trying to be anonymous. You should be able to see my name attached to this post, for example.

[redigere]

...oh!

[She peers closer at her communicator, and sure enough, there it is. She feels utterly embarrassed right now.]

I never noticed before. So then...I'm not on a watch-list?

[Hopefully???]

[Jacob stifles a laugh and tries to look reassuring for Namine. He doesn't want to make her feel more self-conscious, but the idea of her being on a watch list is just too funny for him.]

Definitely not. Not with RISE, at least.

You just arrived, right? Hard to imagine anyone would have a reason to see you as a threat.

[Fun fact: Jacob actually is on a secret government watchlist that he knows nothing about.]

[She knows he's trying not to laugh and she doesn't blame him for it. It probably does seem odd for a small girl like her being worried about being on a watch-list, but...]

I thought, because of my powers...but I'm glad I'm not.

[Though she supposes if they were going to put her on a watch list, there'd been no point in bringing her here in the first place.]

They don't judge people based on powers, here. Even when it might help keep people safe.

[Heroes can't even get a look at the files of people they're investigating. Which is a bit of a pain when you're trying to track down someone with, say, fire powers and you can't find out who has fire powers.]

Can I ask what you've got that's so dangerous?

[redigere]

[She hesitates. And then reasons that she's already told other people, so there's no point in hiding it. If it becomes a problem in the future, then she'll insist that she alone be the one to deal with the consequences.]

I can manipulate memories. Only of a certain group of people, but. It was a problem for those people, back on my world.

[What she fails to realize is that being here has widened the parameters of that 'certain group of people' to include 'everyone in the current world' instead.]

[darkpants_warmfeeling]

[Jacob nods, understanding. That's not the most terrifying power he's heard of from imPorts, but he can see how it could be misused.]

Power is what you make of it. The important thing is what you use it for. As long as you don't hurt the wrong people with it, I don't see any reason why people should give you trouble over it.

I'm not going to hurt anyone ever again with these powers. [It comes out a little more forcefully than she meant it to. She lets out a little sigh.]
