Do you believe in God? Gods? Do they exist where you're from? What about angels or demons or anything like that?

Where I'm from the existence of gods is hard to deny. People are pretty devote and religious. Church is an intrinsic part of our culture. It takes someone pretty hardheaded or self-centered to deny the existence of higher powers, but here there's not much emphasis on religion. Guess I'm just kinda curious now. Is it more like my home in your worlds, or more like this one?

Ah, like the spirit of God flowing through all his people and his creation. I getcha.

We get taught that too, back home. To an extent. I think people take what they hear from church and accept what they mostly feel like believing. Not sure how much God cares to keep watch on us, personally. Seems a little paranoid to think that way, but that's just what I feel.

A machine with great power took us from our homes. Would God watching you back in yours be a ridiculous thought?

No, but if he or whatever was doing it all the time, that seems a little ridiculous. I'd think God would have better things to do.

Are you questioning God's existence because you don't know what He is doing?

[medalsome]

Not really. I definitely believe in the existence of God. Just questioning if he really has so much free time on his hands, its hands, her hands... whatever.

Isn't being God kind of a full-time job?

[snoobs]

He must be doing something somewhere. Multitasking, as most call it.

[ Who knows. There was always that air of mystery that comes with the subject. ]

True. I guess if he's not creating then God's up to something. I thought he might have his hands full giving life to new things.

Who knows! I suspect God's a very busy person.

[ A beat. ]

We've had Gods and demons here, haven't we?

I'm sure God is.

Yes, we have. Maybe I'll try to find one and ask them about it face-to-face, but it still won't be my own world's god. Probably.

Who is yours?

[medalsome]

Uh... the Catholic God. Though we have other gods beyond him, but he might be the Top God? I'm not sure. It's really hard to tell for certain.

I thought Catholics believed in only God and Jesus?

[medalsome]

Not where I'm from. Denying what's obvious would be down-right foolish. There's definitely more than God and Jesus, but I believe they're still there, too. The Saints and the Holy Mother hold sway, as well.

But I believe there are other gods, definitely. I've come face to face with a devil before, too.

[ She had heard he was here before. ]

[There's some hesitation before he sends his next message:]

I know he was a presence here, but no, I didn't meet that particular guy back home just... someone pretty close to it. Definitely looked more like what you'd expect a devil to seem like.

How did you meet someone like that?

[medalsome]

I was just a kid at the time. Stupid and trusting. An old man approached me and gave me a magic medal. I don't have it here, but it basically kept me from getting hurt or dying.

I saw him again not long before I was brought here. It had been a decade. He looked different than what I remembered, but I knew it was him the moment I saw his face and he spoke.

What did he want?

For the medal? A loaf of bread. But sometimes I think maybe he took something more than that.

That sounds ominous.

I was ten at the time. I don't remember if he said something in particular that I should have analyzed for double meanings.

I think a devil would have taken much more. He must have.

Yeah.

I wish I remembered more about that time.

Yeah, maybe. But I kind of hope not.
