[The gravity of somehow escaping death (even if he's not entirely sure this isn't some weird afterlife, yet) is enough to put Harry in an unsettled and confused mindset. What tips it into freaking out is being dropped in the middle of a new place with new responsibilities by himself. He's never had to do anything completely on his own before, and the prospect is more than a little daunting. Suffice it to say that as soon as he was showed to his new home, he immediately ran to his room and locked himself inside. Sorry, roomies.

Since then, he's been waffling around with whether or not to ask the imPort network for help. Pride says no, but desperation says yes. Eventually, he settles somewhere in the middle.]

Hey, um. Is there a map of this place I can get a hold of somewhere? I am so lost. [He laughs, and it's almost entirely convincing to an untrained ear.] Back home, I had a driver I could just say "Take me to this place!" to and they'd take me there. No such luck here, huh? I mean, I guess you could hire somebody, but I'm completely broke at the moment. [The reminder makes his stomach flop. Going from a billionaire to nothing in a second is... well, he's going to have some trouble adjusting.

He sucks in a quick breath before continuing.] Oh-- and for the record, I'm in... [A pause as he tries to recall the name-- and ends up somehow butchering the pronunciation:] I think it's called De Chima? Anyway. If anyone's got some advice for settling in here, I'd appreciate it.

[It seems like he might end it there, but something's been niggling at him since he got here. Now's as good a time as any to bring it up, right?] By the way... this whole "alternate worlds" thing. Is that for real? Are you guys really from other places?

Oh, yeah. I forgot you probably don't have that in your world. Christmas, I mean. If people still celebrate that kinda thing here, you should try it out. [And... well. It's a good thing Harry's video isn't on on his side of things, because he's kind of staring at him until--] Wow. [And then he immediately backpedals, embarrassed.] Uh-- [So much floundering.] Sorry. I just-- you can joke all you want about it, but you're seriously gorgeous, pal. That's all there is to it.

Hah! Well, I wouldn't turn down a friend if my baking's worth the trouble.

[ he blinks, then his ears start going pink, expression turning flustered. ] That's kind of you to say. And it's Mahanon, for the record. [ how is one supposed to react to compliments, it is a mystery. ] Ah.. Christmas, though. I've heard it's celebrated? I don't understand it a great deal, though, to be honest. I've had conflicting information regarding a martyred savior figure and the red-wearing northerner.

[ he means santa claus. ]

[Geez, what a name, too.] Nice to meet you, Mahanon. I'm Harry.

Yeah, well... It's kinda conflicting back home, too. It started out as a religious holiday and it still is for a lot of people. For a lot of others, though, it's just kinda... a celebration of family and generosity. Y'know, the one time of year when everyone slows down a little bit to spend time with loved ones. It's a tradition to give the people you care about gifts on Christmas day, too.

[ his smile returns, warm and still a little flustered. ] It's nice to meet you, too, Harry. [ a beat. ] Well.. 'meet'. [ he's not sure how much over the network actually counts???

the explanation helps a little, but.. ] There are so many holidays in this world. [ a beat. ] Actually, humans have a lot of holidays back home, too, I suppose. .. This one doesn't sound too bad, though, if it means appreciating the people you love.

[Harry lets out a small laugh. He never really thought about it before, but yeah-- Mahanon's got a point there on the holiday front.] Man, you probably haven't seen anything yet. People'll create a holiday out of anything back home. We seriously have a National Pancake Day.

Exactly. That's why it's one of my favorites. It's the one time of year no one can get mad at me for showering them in gifts.
