How refreshing! To take a day to celebrate the birthdays of two former leaders in such a country, and so soon after a celebration of love. These varieties of holidays and celebrations are quite fascinating. Romance! ( A wistful sigh. ) Leadership! That eventful foray by boat Miss Eden East was so gracious to make available to us. Whatever might be next?
( Here she pauses, but not for long. A fraction of a second at most. )
Which begs an interesting question of you, my fellow imPorts. What are the sorts of events and occurrences you find worth celebrating?

[Chilton, she's too young to drink...]
Anyway. I've always fancied celebrating achievement -- particularly, personal achievement.

Awaiting the hair of the dog? What a fascinating turn of phrase. I presume you're speaking of those who've enjoyed the fruit of the vine with too much enthusiasm the night before?
( An amusing statement, such as it is. )
Personal achievements must indeed be worth celebrating. Yet do you find it preferable to celebrate on your own, or with your friends, perhaps colleagues, if in a working profession?

Quite right, there was a bit of indulgence all around. And not everyone can easily polish their, ah, cast iron stomach.
[What? He tried.]
-- Anyway. My professional achievements are recognized with their professional context. [No time for friends! Or rather, no friends to include in such context.] Though, I'll admit, it isn't the easiest thing to practically begin over again, in Heropa.

Another holiday already?

Celebrating a day which is not, in actuality, a birthday for either former leader being celebrated as having existed. It's certainly different from what one might expect.
( She moves toward him, peering down at his paper. )
Anything of relevance in the paper this morning?

No mention of that bird. They only talk of how much a success the party was.

Has anyone in the imPort community contacted our dear friend with the inspirational speeches?
( She looks over the images, scanning the words within the article itself. )
No mention of complaints in regards to burning sensations in the coat room either. Hardly surprising to notice the news shows us where else we need to look. Who exactly are they protecting?
( How good is their silencing if this is what the news grasped onto, with such tumultuous events? )

Life, I'd say. Though perhaps a specific facet of it. Love is, in itself, not a poor choice, either. I think if there were any two, that would be it.
voice;
( She lets the question be it's own lead in to her curiosity. )
Love and romance are well worth celebrating, if not always with such grand doings as a party.
voice;
It's complicated. The sort that only the dead can properly appreciate. [ moving right along... ] But I can't disagree. Romance is a matter that I think is usually best left to its participants, there's no need to involve everyone else in the tawdry details.
Love, of course, is another matter entirely. I could see that being celebrated more publicly.
