My apologies for the interruption. [Lithia pauses for a moment, as if she's not quite sure the communicator is working as it should. Her world may have such technology, but it certainly isn't handed out so freely or so commonly used.] Well, I certainly hope this is actually working.

First, how trustworthy are the people who wrote those pamphlets and files? [She's just a bit creeped out by the amount of knowledge they had, plus the people who know that sort of thing either wouldn't tell or are trying to kill her, so it's a valid concern.] They certainly have some rather classified information.

Second, how safe are the things they embedded in us? These nanites I think they were called? [She's still wondering also how they accomplished that, her skin isn't exactly easy to pierce.]

And my last question, what sort of work could a person who has powers that heal and can make technology using those powers do in this place, besides apparently being a cat groomer?

[She knows her last name is a pain to spell and pronounce. Also, if any characters are particularly knowledgeable about geology they can certainly put together the fact that she's named after two related minerals.]

I admit I like cats and they are rather fond of me as well. I just would prefer to do something I was trained for. I've never actually touched a cat before since I used to be allergic to them. I certainly would consider my own business, assuming it could be done.

You pet cats for a living. There are worse and more boring ways of earning money here. As uninspired as it might be, you got off lucky.

There's a girl around who sells her own grown flowers and pumpkins. So if you want to make your own clinic, or repair-shop it's certainly doable.

I also will have to bathe them and cats do not like water at all.

They can, but you know how people can be.

You've got a point. I'd expect you could go just with good brushing for many types of cat, but some certainly may need a bath.

I'd worry more about those needing their claws trimmed. Suffice to say, that service should go before bathing.

Even trimmed claws can still hurt though. [Good thing cat claws aren't among the things that can pierce Lithia's skin though.]

They will hurt noticeably less then untrimmed ones. Scratches heal better too, or so they say.

[ Not that he can experience it first hand. Metal vs cat claws? Kittens probably loose. Though he does have some softer silicone pseudo-skin that could be damaged ]

Well, I could heal the scratches either way. I just dislike scaring the poor cats.

It comes down to what their owners request. If I have to give a bath, I can't avoid scaring the ones who don't like water.

But wouldn't such cat be already used to the idea of baths? Unless it's their first visit of course.

It may depend on the cat. Fear of water is a rather ingrained instinct for them.

Then ask groomers from other shifts, how they deal with that problem.

It's just taking care of cats, it can't be that hard.
