[Yup. Someone is decidedly unhappy about the Porter returning his best friend. And isn't exactly in the most logical state to acknowledge right now that it isn't under anyone's control and he can't just make such demands, such appeals to the entity inside the thing.]

I don't care how guarded it is. I want to go. If I can take vampires, I'll figure these guys easily enough. If there's a way to bring us here and take us back, there's got to be some way to figure doing this on purpose. And I want to find out.

[By being the reckless idiot he is. It's a shounen requirement, okay? But also. Well. Yuu has never taken loss or potential loss of his family well. So his reaction to Mikaela being Ported back home is probably not much of a surprise.]

[A vampire. So the question of whether Mika is technically 'alive' is. Possibly debatable. But still. Yuu pauses, running a hand through his mop of hair.]

How technically 'dead' are we talking? He still talks and walks and all. That's alive enough for me. I just...we were separated for years back home. And this place is better than what he's going back to.

[ THIS SOUNDS HIGHLY CONCERNING? Though at least he'd know what a vampire is by now, the more one knows. Said in a rush since this brushes against one of the things Shino can't stand (ghosts): ]

... As in he died and he refused to stay dead and now he's a ghost or he's not actually fully dead because that's a concerning difference I'd like to have clarified?!

A ghost? N-no, nothing like that. I'm not even really sure it's my place to say. But he's a vampire.

[A full one, thanks to Yuu's insistence and pleading that he couldn't lose Mika again. That Mika had to drink. So he wouldn't become a demon. It's. Complicated....]

[ Look, the actually demon-bound teen here can't say much on what strange things people need to do to keep in control of themselves. Though what is this audible sigh of relief over here? Probably an indicator that Shino has his own messed up priorities. ]

[ How. WHY DOES HE SOUND SO RELIEVED? ]

Okay, fine, then he's back in a shitty place because he's home and not here. It's not a choice either way. It sucks. But he's alive, so he's still in reach, and you'll get back to him, or he'll get back here, or whatever.

[ Sounding a wee bit irritated now because this is what he's been thinking about that irritates him on account of the two friends he wants to be with. ]

You had him around here at all. Not everyone has that luxury.

Well, it's....better than some alternatives, I guess. Sure. I dunno what you were thinking I meant there but.

[There's some truth to what the other says though. Yuu was lucky to get Mika here at all. And there's the chance Mika would possibly return. Or that Yuu would be sent back home to him and the rest of the squad.]

I know. All that doesn't make this any easier.

[ He grumbles, liberally punching a pillow over on his end because he's a Mature Adult. Really. That he ultimately sighs is him trying to relent for once. ]

I don't think anything does. You keep dealing with it anyway. At least you're not lost to each other forever.

How long? Hm. A few months, I guess, by now. Nowhere near as long as some others around. Why?

[Yuu probably has less clue on what is going on that so many others that have been here way longer.]

[ Ten to one Shino is actively ignoring most of what people have told him. How is any of this really his problem. WHO CARES ABOUT THIS WAR. He just wants home.

Buuuuut in a bright, chipper voice that sounds every bit a thirteen year old's, he suggests: ]

[ There's like. Five. Four? More than three? Hello, Shino, pay better attention? This is the worst "hey so you're looking for distractions" offer, but usually he handles those in persons. Now everyone has ultraphones. What a world. ]

Depends. I'm mostly familiar with Heropa, where I live. But I bet if you asked, one of the others in a different city could help give you a tour if you're in one of the others. There's a few they house us imPorts at, so you might not necessarily be in the same one as I am.

[Yuu is willing to help. He just won't be the best guide around the other cities, sorry Shino.]

Yeah, yeah, that'd only make sense, wouldn't it? I haven't been in Heropa all that much. I got assigned to live in Maurtia Falls.

[ Negligently waving his hand to dismiss this, like it's no big deal. Not that it shows on an audio feed, but it's part of his light dismissive tone. ]

But we should know all of the cities, right? Since it's not like we're told "just stay in this one place."

[ He claps his hands together, spontaneous BRIGHT SMILES based on getting some semblance of his way (and actually wanting to better understand these cities, but being a fool in how he goes about gaining that familiarity). ]

Great! Those machines let us travel city to city. I should be able to get to your city, no problem!

[ There will be problems. But he's determined and doomed to ask for directions along the way. ]

Where's convenient for getting from the the porter thingy?

The military outpost would be simple enough. I can meet you there once you get from the Porter.

[Yuu doesn't mind the travel. It's something to do and distract himself anyway.]

There's mostly smaller local and family owned shops and stuff around here, but the beach isn't too far and all.
