Mika....Bring him back, you damned Porter! Or take me home to him!

[Yup. Someone is decidedly unhappy about the Porter returning his best friend. And isn't exactly in the most logical state to acknowledge right now that it isn't under anyone's control and he can't just make such demands, such appeals to the entity inside the thing.]

I don't care how guarded it is. I want to go. If I can take vampires, I'll figure these guys easily enough. If there's a way to bring us here and take us back, there's got to be some way to figure doing this on purpose. And I want to find out.

[By being the reckless idiot he is. It's a shounen requirement, okay? But also. Well. Yuu has never taken loss or potential loss of his family well. So his reaction to Mikaela being Ported back home is probably not much of a surprise.]

Tell me what you know.

There no guarantee for anything, whether here or elsewhere. Sometimes circumstances are beyond our control, and the best we can do is survive them.

We can rage in vain all we like, but no matter how sick we are, it won't change anything.

He'll keep. Everything does while we're here. We return as if we were never here at all, so anything he might need saving from won't change while you're parted from your world.

[ Someone more nihilistic might think that means that whatever happens here doesn't matter, but she's been here too long to think that. Everything they do matters to here, just not on their source worlds. ]

Hating that you lack control won't give you any power to change it. We're better making the best of the lives we have, while we have them.

That's how she works, her timing is impeccable. Just when you've come out the other side of the problems that seemed insurmountable, the curtain is drawn. You never have the chance to enjoy the happy ending you've worked so hard for.

Perhaps she just grows bored of us after the conflict is resolved.

Perhaps everyone has family, but not all of them will have it here.

[ Well, her point might be a little muddled there. She had family here, once. ]

I don't know that she necessarily sends anyone back just to cause drama for those left behind. I think that might only be incidental. I think she sends those back who she can no longer gain any entertainment from.

However "messed with" we feel in their absence is all at our own discretion.

That's my best guess. She's called us "heroes", but I think it's really only in the literary sense. We go about living our stories, and she sits back with the popcorn.
