[The first few second of video is an awkwardly angled shot of a very tired, very pretty blonde woman, clearly trying to work through how to use her damn phone. She looks like she's recently been through the wringer, face a mess of healing scrapes and a few shadowy bruises. So, she's just not here for any kinda crap today, phone. Behave.]

Oh lord, I’ve never been good at this computer stuff. What is- oh, eeugh.

[Sookie finally gets a good look at herself in the camera, and that angle is doing nothing for her, yikes. She takes a moment to adjust the angle, until she’s satisfied that she looks actually presentable to strangers and not a damn mess like she’s been for the past week.]

I’m Sookie, ah, Sookie Stackhouse. I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be so scattered, I’m just a little overwhelmed right now, if you can understand. [She frowns, a little embarrassed at herself. Get a grip, Sook, it’s just a camera.] Ah, so, I’d really really like to know about churches around anywhere? I’m Methodist, but I’m no stranger to a Baptist service, or any of those big nondenominational-

[And then for just a moment, the Fellowship of the Sun flashes across her mind’s eye, and her stomach lurches. No. No megachurches.]

Actually, no, just small congregations are fine for me.

Also, they're telling me that I've got to be on some TV show called, ah.....[She takes a moment to look at something scribbled onto her palm.] Virginia Lakeshore? Anyone know anything about that? How would I wiggle my way out of that, exactly?

When I came here I was sent to work in a Church. I can tell you where it is, but I didn't stay for long. You can leave the job they gave you if you don't want it.

Forgive me but you look as though you need a healer, not a priest. Who did this to you?

I'm... guessing by the name of the show you're in De Chima? I've been there a few times, but I don't really know the city well enough to point out all the churches or anything, sorry.

The other thing I don't think should be a problem if you haven't already signed anything to do with the show. Once there's legal whatever whatever involved, it can get a bit trickier.

But I'm kinda guessing you have some bigger questions than those you'd like some answers to?

Sookie - what the hell happened to you? And are you seriously askin' 'bout goddamn churches right now? Where are you?

[Well that's...nice, she guesses. She'd totally forgotten about her injuries, honestly. People have been staring at her all day, but all the questions have been a lot weirder.]

All this? [She makes a kind of vague wave at her entire face.] It happened weeks ago. It's been handled a few times over.

[Violently. Lots of blood all over the place, as has become her norm.]

I'm pretty much fine as I can be at this point. But the church, you remember what it was called?

[She doesn't want to walk into some Pentecostal church on accident. That's the last thing she needs right now.]

[ If that's how it looks after handling, how had it looked before? That's alarming. No wonder she'd said she was scattered. ]

[ He attaches it to this message, after a great deal of technological warfare. He hates these devices. Neither name nor denomination had ever meant anything to him; it's something of a surprise to learn there's any difference. ]

I don't know what kind it was. The religion was new to me. Do you believe something different than they?

Yeah, I think so? I'm in Virginia right now, I'm pretty sure.

[God, that's weird. Louisiana one minute Florida the next, and now Virginia. She's taken a regular jaunt around the South.]

When I got here they shoved a whole bunch of papers at me at once. I didn't know what was going on so I just...signed 'em. No one wanted to answer my questions, seemed like.

[ Caitlin can certainly relate to feeling scattered after arriving here. New world, new place, new powers. It's incredibly overwhelming. She flashes a gentle, friendly smile. ]

I can't help with the church question, but you can always quit the job they assign you. Of course, you'd probably want to have another one of your choice lined up before doing that. I'll admit, I'd probably quit any job that required me to be in front of a camera.

[ She should leave it at that, but she can't help herself. ]

Are you okay? The — [ Caitlin gestures to her own face where Sookie's has the scrapes and bruises. ]

[You know that thing, where when you're so supremely stressed, then something takes one thing off your plate and the relief makes you feel about ten pounds lighter? That's what seeing Sam's face is like. She's not alone, and though last night she wasn't eager to get him mixed up in her drama, she's more than happy to right now.]

I'm fine, I'm fine. I got thrown around a little, but nothing serious. We won. [And then, confused:] You get here last night too?

Ah. Yeah, I guess maybe some of them have gotten a little too used to new arrivals showing up. Forgot exactly how upsetting it can be.

How are you holding up?

--oh, and I'd definitely look into those papers if I were you. I don't know if it was some sort of contract for your job thing, but I would hope there's some way to fix that even if it was. Not that I'm a lawyer or anything, but... yeah. Extenuating circumstances and all that.

I used to live in De Chima for a while so I could probably point out churches if you're still looking.

[This is a really pleasant surprise, honestly. Sookie was expecting more of the wringer, too much information at once and minimal human kindness, but so far people are so kind. It's comforting, to say the least.]

I think I might've signed some contract by accident, but if I can get out of it I don't care if I've gotta be jobless for a little.

[She sighs, but it's so deep a little bit of her should probably escapes with it. What is her life? Why this?]

But the face, that happened two, three weeks ago. I'm as okay as I can be, you can't really speed up fixing a fractured cheekbone.

I am, thank you. I would really appreciate it. I'm fine. Most of it is a few weeks old from before Christmas. Well. When I was it was after Christmas.

[Sookie's really no better with technology. At home she only even has a flip phone and still uses VHS, so it's taking some kinda effort to use this thing. She's able to get the link open, though, so she'll call it a win.]

Thanks so much, I'll definitely look into this. [But, oh, that sure is a loaded question.] Oh, um, I'd say most Christians belive in the same thing, mostly, but it's the details that get a little messy. Some people get real intense.

I'm Wanda Maximoff. [She introduces herself in return to start with. Wanda's accent sounds eastern-ish European; for those familiar with a Serbian accent, the Sokovian accent sounds vaguely like that.]

As I am sure others have already said, it is possible to quit the job they assign you when you first arrive here. I stuck with mine for a bit, but it wasn't anything particularly exciting. [Now she's opened her own bakery in De Chima. That's more fun than what she was first doing here.] I might be able to offer suggestions of places you can look for better jobs, though, since I've been here the better part of a year and there are plenty of places around where I'm sure you could get hired. What are you looking for instead?

[Sookie stops for a moment, considering the actual question. Well, hell.]

Thank you. For asking, I mean. It's been a real rough month for me and I don't think anyone's asked me how I was. [She smiles weakly, but there's something genuine in it.] I could be better, honestly.

[ She's going to count her blessings that her job didn't make her sign anything. Not that she's left it. Not yet. ]

Actually, you can in this place. The nanites in your tattoo, [ She helpfully shows her own. ] they can speed along the healing process. I had first hand experience with that. There's also people with healing abilities that could take care of it right away.

[She smiles sympathetically.]

I'm sorry to hear that. If it helps, this place is... very strange. But definitely not all bad. I've met a lot of good people here, ones who do their best to look out for each other.

[Her accent, bizarrely, puts her in mind of a vampire she met a few months ago. Not that this woman is probably a vampire, but it was the first time she'd ever met anyome who talked like that.

Well, last few years I've worked as a waitress at my friend's bar. It's not much, but I'm good at it.
