[The video opens with not only one Reyes, but two, in the kitchen of Heropa 16. Both Bianca and Jaime are visible, and it's initially coming from Bianca's communicator.
Bianca begins to speak first. She at least looks more rested than the last time she had made a post to the network.]
Hi, everyone. I'm Bianca Reyes, and this is my son, Jaime. [In the background, Jaime waves dutifully at the camera, though he remains silent. Hi, imPorts!]
Thanksgiving is coming up, and we know not everyone is lucky enough to have family or friends from back home here.
[Something that certainly hit home for Bianca, last month when Alberto disappeared. She looks over at her son.
Now it's Jaime's turn to pipe up, though he's certainly not as skilled a public speaker as his mother is. He doesn't even bother stepping forward.]
So, I know not everyone knows what Thanksgiving is. It's got a long history with, um, pilgrims, and how America was founded, but that isn't really what it's about anymore. Mostly, it's about spending time with people you love, talking about what you're thankful for, and most importantly, eating a lot of food. A lot of food. [He has to grin at that.
Bianca turns a bit to glance at Jaime, with a smile, before returning her attention back to the camera.]
Because of that, we want to invite anyone who doesn't have anyone here or has never celebrated Thanksgiving before to come and celebrate it with us. We might all be stuck here for the holidays, but we don't have to be alone for them.
[Jaime glances over at Bianca a little uneasily because this is a big get-together she's talking about - come on, supervillains, give this one a rest - but instead of voicing those concerns, leaves everyone with a parting request:] Oh, and, uh, since we don't know how big this will get… please bring something if you're coming! We can potluck it up. How big is this grocery list going to get?
[Bianca looks back over, knowingly. They'll have this under control!] It might take a few trips, it'll be fine. [That's not fine at all!]
We'll make sure there's enough space for everyone. If nothing else, the weather will be nice here.

I can bring pie! ...pies. Multiple pies. Pecan pie is required, it's already on the list, don't worry, and pumpkin pie, that's traditional, what's another kind you just need to have?

Well, apple pie is never a bad choice.

Apple!
[He doesn't mean to echo his mom on that front, but he's a traditional boy with a fondness for traditional pies.]
If you want to, that is! You don't gotta bring three things. Just the one would do. Then again, I'm sure whatever you bring will definitely get eaten.

If I technically have people here and have technically done the Thanksgiving thing before, can I still turn up?
( After barely a moment she tacks on a follow up: ) Is bringing something not-traditionally Thanksgiving okay, or will I be shunned?
And, uh, hi Mrs. Reyes. I used to be Jaime's neighbour. He's a terrible influence, always doing things like helping with groceries and offering to fix my car. ( She makes a pained sound. Such a pained sound. ) Such a shame.
video.
Hi, Sarissa. Jaime's mentioned you a few times. [She's the punchy one.] And he can be like that, can't he?
Everyone's welcome to come if they want, and if you want to bring something, anything's fine. Everyone does something different for Thanksgiving. You can bring people too, if they feel like coming along, even.

I did wonder about all the turkey pictures I've been seeing. I'll have to see if I can make one of my Japanese recipes a little more American....

I'm sure you don't need to change it, there are plenty of people here who would probably enjoy it the way it already is.

If you get an idea of what you may need more of, call me. I've done turkey a few different ways, run the gamut of sides, and I'm fairly adept at dessert.

Ma'am, this isn't related, but I wanted to apologise to you for how I treated your son earlier. I didn't have all the information at the time and ran in half-cocked.

Thanksgiving? Oh, what a lovely sounding holiday. It must make everypony so happy!
Do you put on a pageant for the founding?
[It's the wrong seas for Hearth's Warming, but man if this Thanksgiving doesn't sound a lot like it.]

It's one of the holidays we have where families get together. And, sometimes? The elementary schools usually do something, I think. There are always parades, at least.
