Day 6 | Voice | FORWARD-DATED TO TOMORROW

Once, Thanksgiving was celebrated by proclamation. This nation was called to give thanks, to celebrate.

It transformed into tradition. Then an annual holiday. Now it is commonplace.

[ He pauses, purposefully. His voice is soft and calm. ]

We've been taken from our worlds. Our homes. Our times. I have been here for ten months, two weeks and four days. Some of you have been here for years. Others, much less.

In that time, is there anything in this world you are thankful for? People. Places. Things. Or perhaps thankful to be here. Or maybe you're not thankful at all. Maybe everything you're thankful for has been ripped away from you.

Regardless. Today is a day to give thanks. So tell me. What are you thankful for?

It's 1889 at home, yes. Not the greatest leap someone brought here has made, but enough to be remarkable.

My family found it quite the eventful year.

[that's an awfully mean little inside joke for him to be making, but since it only pokes at Jonathan himself he doesn't particularly mind. he thinks it's pretty funny all the same.]

But it was certainly a bit of an overwhelming arrival, I won't argue that! It's amazing how much progress humanity can make in such a relatively short span of time.

Oh, certainly. I've even stumbled across people from a branching path of my own universe here.

[another Dio, another world. proof that he and his own brother could have been friends if he would have simply allowed it.]

I've actually some idea of what my world will become, though, and apparently it's quite similar to this one. It's fascinating how many people have the same thing to say, isn't it?

[so many worlds remarkably familiar to the one they found themselves currently trapped in. it was amazing when one considered how many small choices were necessary to bring a future to bear. to have them repeat so many times over...truly amazing.]
