[Who knows who this is meant for. Whoever it is, they're not getting it; it's showing up on the public network instead.]

I bring her sweetbread, she's got wine in the kitchen, things are going very nicely. Then a giant fuck-off snake slithers into the room, as long as I am tall and thick as my forearm.

I'm telling you, mate, I nearly left right then and there.

[thus far he'd been avoiding any public association with Alfie, but hell if this wasn't a story he wanted to hear more of. not the whole wine and dine bit, but definitely about the snake.]

Did you kill it?

Why not? They feel kinda neat. I mean, they're good eating and all, but if you don't gotta eat them, it's interesting to get to touch them.

[Well, that narrowed it down to all of two. And while the man dressed like he stepped out of some old-timey flick, Daryl wasn't that familiar with the means of dress between the periods. They weren't more than a couple decades apart anyway.]

The first one or the second?

I only ever heard stories about it. And what the history books said.

[But he imagined it was as overwhelming to the presence of everyone as the walkers were in his life. Just seemed like one of those really big things.]

You serve?
