[THE SCENE: megan's room, which is decorated tastefully in floral patterns and pastels, almost making up for the fact that it is also a total disaster area. megan herself is standing in the middle, in view from the waist up--the comm seems to be resting on a desk.

there is a few seconds before megan does anything, apparently not having realized the broadcast has started. then she smiles, claps her hands together, and bounces on her heels a little bit, her wings fluttering in unison.]

Um, hello, Network! Omigod, this is my first post, isn't it? Well, hello, my name's Megan. Or Pixie, if we're being professional.

[she gives a small wave before continuing. her accent's some kind of british (welsh, for those who can tell).]

I don't know about you, but I thought paintball ended up being kind of rubbish! And I know there are a lot of people about my age around here, sooo, I was thinking, why don't we go have some fun for once? Like, a group outing, or something. I haven't been downtown too much yet, but there has to be some good clubs around, right?

Or we could go to the movies, or anything people would like to do. I just thought it might be nice to blow off some steam and hang out, considering everything that's been happening. What with the fake bodily injuries and crazy robots and all.

So, if you're interested, let me know and we can figure out what we're doing and when. Since it's summer, any day of the week should work, right? (Er, this place doesn't have a curfew, does it?)

Don't worry if we don't know each other, everyone's welcome, and maybe this way we can all meet new people! Anyway, that's all, carry on.

[she gives another little wave and the feed cuts.]

[ after a second, charles seems to be grappling with whether or not to make himself look old again. he gives in, though, and eventually does so. ]

What do people do at clubs? Here in the future and all that.

And--I dunno, you dance, I guess! There's music and you're with friends and you just get to let loose. It's nice. [and maybe drink and make out with people but she's not telling him that.] Why, what do people do at clubs in the sixties?

[ He opens his mouth to respond to the first bit, then stops; instead frowning as he realizes what she must mean. Then he turns his attention to the second statements. ]

I suppose they do much the same thing, though I'm sure dancing has changed—you know, er, since.

Don't worry, Mr. Professor, I won't be inappropriate. And everybody will get home safe and sound and in a timely fashion.

Mr. Professor?

[ He frowns, then huffs somewhat as he adjusts his shoulders. He looks... mock-offended. ]

You can call me Charles. I'm not—I'm not that old.

—and I know you're not entirely sincere; it doesn't take telepathy to know that. [ He chuckles, then shrugs. ] It does not bother me.

Well--no offense, but if you're an alternate version of the principal, it's a bit forward to call you by your given name, isn't it? And "Professor X" is taken, so...

...but, if you don't care about being inappropriate, I suppose you're not so principallish after all, are you?

Well, I'm not really a principal.. yet. You know, in case that makes it any better.

Yeah, but the one I know is, and that's what's important here.

I could call you Mr. Xavier instead.

I suppose I can accept that. [ He chuckles a bit in mock-offense. ]

Mr. Xavier it is. [ Then, after a few seconds, he frowns. ]

Wait—why does Erik get to be Magneto but I shouldn't be Professor X?

[ dOUBLE STANDARDS?? ]

His name's Erik? That's so dorky!

[ Charles' eyes widen for a second and then he's looking thoughtful; opening his mouth to speak and instead starting to laugh. ]

I don't imagine he was christened Magnet-o upon his birth; though really, 'Erik' doesn't seem all that—dorky to me.

Would you have him be named something else?

Well, I didn't think Magneto was his real name, of course! It just seems so weird to think of him as having, like...a person name.

[magneto has become as much a symbol to the mutant community as non-mutant, which is part of the reason why this situation with his younger version is so absurd to her.

she mouths "erik" to herself, incredulously.]

You'd think he'd have a name like--like Morganthus Darkstar or something.

[ Charles laughs a bit further at that, before he raises his eyebrows. ]

I don't know that he's villain enough—in my own reality—to warrant a name quite so Arthurian. However, I imagine he'll get a good laugh out of it.

Oh my God! Please don't tell him I said that! [he'll think she's DUMB and what if he gets MAD]

Erik is the best coolest name ever, I swear.

I do not know, I wouldn't say it's better than Charles.

I won't tell him if you don't want me to, but I get the feeling he could warm up to the name!

You really think he won't get mad? I mean, I don't know him very well...but he's always come off as very intimidating. Even though he's on our side.

I don't think so. As far as I can tell, he's not much attached to the Magneto name. Perhaps he ought to have that wizard name in its place.

[ Then, with a note of seriousness; ]

I would be lying if I said he were not intimidating; to be entirely honest, he is intimidating to me now—I can't imagine that becomes less of a truth as he grows old. [ one day charles needs to creep some heads and find out that silver fox magneto is gorgeous and buff as fuck and he'll be marginally disappointed in erik for being neither silver nor buff as a yacht ]

Um...yeah, he like, joined the X-Men after Cyclops made us an island and stuff.

He's still kind of scary, though. And old. David said he was, like...eighty or something, and David knows everything, basically.

[ After a few moments, Charles seems to have counted in his head—then he laughed. ]

Yes, that checks out. [ little does he know about being made into babies?? w/e ] He's still active enough at 80? My God.

Um, it's very complicated. But really, he doesn't look eighty at all. He looks about fifties at the most. Maybe he, like, extended his lifespan with, er, magnetism? Can you even do that?

Anyway, you don't look eighty back home, either. Are you really the same age?

The same age as Erik? No, he is some years my senior.
