[ The video starts with Kaneki sitting on an old couch, in a place that looks like an old warehouse. There are old kitchen appliances there as well, some seem to be in good shape, but most are broken and battered. He is also holding on to a file of sort, which he will be reading as he speaks ]

Last month we had a black-out and following that, someone released hundreds of criminals. Like it was mentioned before, someone heard German being spoken and Russian technology was found on the scene. Some of us decided to go after a couple of clues related to all of that, and that lead us to Liechtenstein. In Europe, yes, a Russian allied country and they speak German there. [ This was the first time he went to Europe, actually, and it was on a spy mission. There is something to say about that ]

We found a couple of things, which I believe you’d be interested in. [ he finally starts flipping through the pages of the folder he has in his hands ] The place we broke in was a laboratory and we found many references to the American technological company DARPA - known for the creation of the imPocreats that had attacked Philadelphia some months ago. The employees they referenced in these files, including those who helped creating imPocreat technology, either quit prior to the Philadelphia attacks or were fired after the fact and none of them work for DARPA. [ he looks back at the camera ] In fact, we found a few imPocreats submerged in tanks. They were experimenting on them in many different and kind of grotesque ways, but we aren’t sure what they were trying to do since there was no documentation. [ no way he is telling the network they actually stole one of those things. That’s something for later on. He is quick to go back to the file to continue reading it. ]

They also had documentation on Tony Stark's metahumans . It was mostly information that the public already knows, but it seems they have been experimenting on DNA with special interest in the idea of a metahuman gene. Along with this, we also found documentation on imPort powers, specifically what we have shown to the public before.

Finally, the foreign technology the laboratory was working on appeared to be Russian in nature. They have advanced and futuristic EMPs and Electronic Disruptors, and plans and prototypes for invisibility aeroplanes that appear to be able to achieve fuel efficiency for around-the-world journeys. [ Kaneki puts down the file and leans back in his seat, while one of his gloved hands reaches for the eyepatch covering the left eye and adjusts it ]

That's all. But if you have any questions, I can try answering. The USA government knows all of this, since we shared this information with them.

[ Note: Some sort of catch-up if you will! Misfire plot, which was followed by a Blackout and Prison break. The Prison break was investigated ICly by other characters and their findings can be found here. The mission Kaneki is talking about happened in private, but I’ve written everything down about how it all begun and what happened during it. The ImPocreat parts they stole are NOT available YET and no one but the members of this mission knows about it; this will be for a future plot, but for now it’s hidden. ]

[He switches to private, and relents a little.]

Truthfully, I wouldn't've been happy if you'd kept it a secret.

[He does think that this was kind of a reckless move, but it was still probably the best option - outside of, maybe, only telling a select few of people who were both extremely trustworthy and in a position to help in an effective way. And Alfie doesn't think that there are a lot of people here like that.]

Do you think they're gonna come after you?

I know you wouldn't. [ Kaneki gets that. The fear that some idiots will just make everything worst, but at the same time not wanting to be in the dark ] It affects all of us; even if someone has this grand idea that they can ally with the Russians, the Soviets have made it clear we are just weapons and pawns to them and they have no desire to see us as anything but that. [ so this information ends up being important even to the people who call themselves "villains" ]

We were careful about not leaving tracks behind. However, they know the laboratory was breached, and I'm sure they are already pointing fingers. [ at USA of course ]

We're weapons and pawns to all of them.

The Russians brainwashed and tortured us. They tortured children. In fact, they didn't seem them as children.

The fact that they did that, but USA never used such tactics says a lot.

I'm not telling you that they should be excused. Yeah? I'm not saying that. But don't accept a bad situation simply because it isn't the worst situation.

I'm not with USA government and I'm very aware they wish to use us to tip the scale of the war in their favor. Anyone would do that.

[ let's be realistic. Had they ended in any other country, they'd probably try doing the same. ]

But considering everything that keeps happening, slowly "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" starts making a bit more sense.

Anyone would not do that. No. Absolutely fucking not.

They would. That's how the world is.

[ it happens here. It happens in Kaneki's world. It happens in so many worlds he has heard about. If there is a power, everyone will want it - even if that power is a person. ]

Anyone would conscript a group of civilians and children and pressure them to fight in a war. Really.

Yes. [ Kaneki had to mentor children who underwent a surgery so they'd be able to fight ghouls. His government has a project which is about breeding ghouls with humans and get half-breeds in order to fight ghouls.

And he could talk about other horror stories he heard from other worlds. He could go on about child soldiers, or experiments, or locking up the super-gifted. But in the end, the answer would still be "yes, a lot of people would". ]

I'm glad you don't think so, though. [ because it means Alfie's world was a lot kinder. ]

You've got a dim fucking view of the world. I'm not the most optimistic person myself, but compared to you-- fucking hell.

[ he doesn't know half of it ]

I don't want anyone to see the world the same way I do. [ because really, it's the worst sort of thing ] But I don't think it's all hopeless. [ he thinks things can change. No, he is certain of it. ]

No? Is that why you're ready to just right it off? "The enemy of my enemy is my friend".

You are taking that out of context. I'm specifically talking about the Russians, which is a common threat the imPorts and the USA government have.

And besides, this whole trip to Liechtenstein was only possible because of the USA government.

Well, then, that changes everything. You've convinced me, mate; I'm gonna trot off to register right now.

[ he almost rolls his eyes ]

Alfie, if you want to believe this is me telling you to support the government, then there isn't much I can add because it's the only thing you are going to press on. [ it just keeps escalating towards that and Kaneki doesn't want to constantly repeat himself. Specially after he spent two months arguing with government officials that he has every right to be unregistered regardless of his nature. ]

I don't think that's what you're telling me. No. But I want you to look harder at the reasons why you do.

Again, I do not support the government. I don't agree with a lot they do and I don't agree with a lot they don't do.

But they never tortured and brainwashed my fourteen years old sister and told us "we are now the propriety of USA government". So, if I need to go to Liechtenstein to find out about those people who did do that, I will reach out for them. [ and look, he got results ]

[... Okay, if there's a little sister involved, Alfie can be a little more forgiving and a little less of a needling bastard.

But just a little.]

Think twice before you get into this business of "at least they're not as bad as they could be". That's all I'm asking of you.

I didn't know you had a sister.

I'll worry about the loudest problem first. [ and the Russians are definitively not quiet. They keep pressing imPort's buttons, they keep attacking them in different ways, and are apparently spying on all of them with their invisible superplanes. They are the main issue right now; you can't fight the whole world at the same time ]

And yeah, I do. She has been here for a while as well. [ they aren't blood related, but Kaneki doesn't care about that ]

Longer or shorter than you?

Shorter. She arrived six months after I did.

Well, what's her name? I'll give her a wave if I see her.

Hinami Fueguchi. [ he actually lightens up a lot when talking about her ] She is Japanese and a bit short- she is very cute, though.

These past two years have been really different from what she is used to- [ because she was sheltered A LOT ] but she likes meeting new people and friends of mine.

[ YES HE IS GUSHING ABOUT HIS LITTLE SISTER ]

Was she adopted into your family?

[He asks because he knows Kaneki is Japanese, and so it seems strange to Alfie that he'd mention specifically that his sister is too, rather than just assuming that that would be a given.]
