[ The video starts with Kaneki sitting on an old couch, in a place that looks like an old warehouse. There are old kitchen appliances there as well, some seem to be in good shape, but most are broken and battered. He is also holding on to a file of sort, which he will be reading as he speaks ]

Last month we had a black-out and following that, someone released hundreds of criminals. Like it was mentioned before, someone heard German being spoken and Russian technology was found on the scene. Some of us decided to go after a couple of clues related to all of that, and that lead us to Liechtenstein. In Europe, yes, a Russian allied country and they speak German there. [ This was the first time he went to Europe, actually, and it was on a spy mission. There is something to say about that ]

We found a couple of things, which I believe you’d be interested in. [ he finally starts flipping through the pages of the folder he has in his hands ] The place we broke in was a laboratory and we found many references to the American technological company DARPA - known for the creation of the imPocreats that had attacked Philadelphia some months ago. The employees they referenced in these files, including those who helped creating imPocreat technology, either quit prior to the Philadelphia attacks or were fired after the fact and none of them work for DARPA. [ he looks back at the camera ] In fact, we found a few imPocreats submerged in tanks. They were experimenting on them in many different and kind of grotesque ways, but we aren’t sure what they were trying to do since there was no documentation. [ no way he is telling the network they actually stole one of those things. That’s something for later on. He is quick to go back to the file to continue reading it. ]

They also had documentation on Tony Stark's metahumans . It was mostly information that the public already knows, but it seems they have been experimenting on DNA with special interest in the idea of a metahuman gene. Along with this, we also found documentation on imPort powers, specifically what we have shown to the public before.

Finally, the foreign technology the laboratory was working on appeared to be Russian in nature. They have advanced and futuristic EMPs and Electronic Disruptors, and plans and prototypes for invisibility aeroplanes that appear to be able to achieve fuel efficiency for around-the-world journeys. [ Kaneki puts down the file and leans back in his seat, while one of his gloved hands reaches for the eyepatch covering the left eye and adjusts it ]

That's all. But if you have any questions, I can try answering. The USA government knows all of this, since we shared this information with them.

[ Note: Some sort of catch-up if you will! Misfire plot, which was followed by a Blackout and Prison break. The Prison break was investigated ICly by other characters and their findings can be found here. The mission Kaneki is talking about happened in private, but I’ve written everything down about how it all begun and what happened during it. The ImPocreat parts they stole are NOT available YET and no one but the members of this mission knows about it; this will be for a future plot, but for now it’s hidden. ]

I admit I don't know much about DARPA. All I can tell you is about their branch, Otherworldly Technologies Organization (OTO), and that this was actually the organization we infiltrated in.

Which is located in a Russian-ally country. [ if it is a government agency then... yeah. What was it doing there? ] The government knew Liechtenstein had caught American technology, but we weren't told how they learned about it and who is involved. They only told us about this specific target, actually. [ so the government knew and is involved. To what extent it's still a mystery ] But DARPA and its employees ARE mentioned by name. We have a list of those names.


And we have duplicates of all our findings and we also have a video feed of the mission itself. We recorded it with the mental link to the network. But I'm guessing the laboratory has realized someone was there, by now. [ not "guessing". They did come in right in their faces, so they KNOW someone was there ]

they may have been in possession of

but they were dissected and mangled
i think they may have been studying them to reverse engineer the technology
the listed employees may have been soviet-planted saboteurs
this wouldnt be the first time thats happened and weve been hearing about soviet spies in america government agencies since our first week here

somethings certainly going on here but im not entirely sure how to interpret this data just yet

During the imPocreat tournament, that's how they introduced themselves. Plus the people who were fired or quit were mostly involved in the creation of those things. There is the possibility they didn't do it on their own accord, of course.

But you are right, we do not have enough information to know exactly what is going on. We need more.

It does. I don't think we should rule it out, though. maybe the ones who created OTO branch were Russian allies from the beginning and always had this objective - but nobody noticed. A lot of people don't notice a lot of things, even if they are right in front of them.

anyway i do think the fact that they either quit or their employment was terminated after philadelphia is rather telling
it creates an almost coordinated group within the research team
our next move should probably be to locate these individuals

We have a lot of next moves, and we have to decide which steps we should take. And hopefully not just us, there are many people who are interested in learning the truth as well.

Savvyge sounds good enough to me, actually. I like that one.

And there are a couple that come to mind.

We need to find out more about DARPA and OTO; whatever DARPA is, it had a branch in a Russian-allied country and no one noticed. We need to figure out what is going on with this. Of course, we also should look for the employers and employees of OTO, and it doesn't hurt to give a look into DARPA's personnel too, if we can.

In fact, we should check what DARPA has on imPocreats. Maybe they still have one that isn't completely deformed. [ and maybe it could work as a comparison to the ones they stole ]

There is also the Heaven Scent issue. It was very convenient that suddenly a company was asking for our DNA; it was even more convenient that an explosion happened and they really had to have our blood to create an antidote. Specially since our DNA and the mutant gene seem to make Russians very curious.

I'm also curious about the invisible tech we have found. It's a long shot, but given American companies seem to have Russian affiliations and nobody noticed until now, I don't think it's irrational to at least search for companies currently focusing on invisible and stealth technology, and check their background a bit.

And I think we should start looking at the native metahumans. We have been largely ignoring them, but Russia hasn't.

i hadnt donated anything to them because i didnt believe theyd be able to comprehend my biology
but that may have been a better idea than i expected
im beginning to suspect there was no accident at all but just a cover to introduce an import-targeted virus that would give us an even further incentive to provide samples

also if we want to study impocreats perhaps we might start with those owned by imports
the fact that so many of us keep these as pets when they could be weapons waiting in the wings or spying devices is honestly rather disturbing

but with all of these possible vectors of approach we will need a much larger team
or at least a larger number of smaller teams
all coordinated to handle each particular investigation
if we try to do it all with only the people who have already been involved we will never cover every facet before they eventually move against us

Do you know why imPorts were chosen to go? I'd think the US would have wanted to clean this up quietly.

We weren't chosen, specially because half of us in the team aren't registered. But we found information and it lead us to Liechtenstein. Since it is a Soviet allied country, we couldn't just go there - the government would locate us through the nanites - so we contacted the government about all of this.

I think they knew we were willing to "get lost" in Austria and end up in Liechtenstein, so they probably preferred to just keep things quiet as possible and bring us in. Plus, we can do their dirty work with much more ease. [ super-powers are great like that ]

It's quieter than having Lichtenstein suddenly after us. So far, they don't know who exactly hacked them. [ robbed them. They robbed Lichtenstein. Oops. ]

If DARPA really is a government agency in this world as well, then they are covered in it, since their branch OTO is located in a Russian allied country. In fact, even if it's just an american company, it's still a company and its branch that were directly involved in a Swear-In, and no one noticed they had Russian connections.

It's a huge mess. And I think they know because they were so willing to send us off. They didn't argue. [ Kaneki was planning on making a lot of noise and threaten to let the public know and yet... none of that was necessary. ]

This isn't the first time I've heard of them confiscating the Russian technology from the prying hands of imPorts. They know full well of our powers and knowledge set. If they really wanted to see how they were engineered, they would recruit us to do it.

No, I think they set this up on purpose. I wouldn't be surprised to find if OTO was just the scapegoat. The government uses OTO to uncover Russian secrets, disposes of the branch, and you're sent to clean up the rest.

But whatever the Russians have up their sleeves, the government wants to hide it from us at a high cost. I think they mean to study it, to perfect it, to control the Porter.

Sure. We will meet there.

And yes, they have done that. And in fact, we never hear about any of it again. A lot of the things we find and share, don't get a return from them; they don't talk to us. [ unless they need something, sure ]

There is still much we need to learn and much we need to do. Stopping now will make what we found completely useless because we can't use it in any way. I don't doubt there will be much dirt along the way. But honestly, it's about time we open our eyes.
