[ Well, Kyle's been having a time of it back home. He's come back a little wiser, a lot stronger, and with giant ears. And fangs. And unwieldy black claws. They're actually making texting kind of hard, but it's better than video or audio right now. He's not letting this freak show go on display in front of the entire network. But he does need help from them, sssoooo... ]

OK, now come sit down. [ She takes his hand and starts tugging him to the couch. ]


Is anything else weird? Like do you feel different?

[ Kyle goes, but he looks miserably pathetic the entire way. Plopping down beside Persephone, he keeps his head down staring at his lap. ]

Yeah. He... gave me new powers. I can feel how people around me feel, like their emotions. And I... [ Well, the other "gift" is rather embarrassing to talk about, so he simple stops and shakes his head. ]

[ An awfully embarrassed groan comes out of Kyle. It would be nice if he could run his hands up and down his face, but the claws and horns make it too difficult now. ]

There's... a hunger in me.

Oh- oh shit.


[ She puts her head on his. A demonic hunger, huh? Well only one thing that could mean. ]


Look, it'll be OK. I get why you're freaked out, but it doesn't have to be a big deal. And you're definitely not the first one with that problem, either. I've been helping out Jack with it too, and the dogs sometimes.

What do you mean Jack? [ Well this went places he didn't expect. ] Like old dad Jack? You have sex with him?

[ w o w! Plot twist! Not that he's judging! Kyle would certainly like to be in Seph's position. ]

What? No! Oh my god. I meant eating people!

Oh my God, he eats people?? No! That's—I mean sex! I need satisfaction any way I can get it! I feel... so much emptier now.

Wait, your dad made you slutty?

Seph, the last thing I want to talk about right now is my father. He's a twisted, horrible son of a bitch...

[ Kyle remains quiet for a beat. Then he finally relents. ]

But yeah—He... it's... complicated.

[There's that telltale shimmer of stardust heralding Inanna's return. True to their word, they've brought a bottle of strawberry vodka along with them.]

Is it... It sounds like I got back with this just in time. [It's a little difficult to make out their expression through the glitter yet, but the concern in their tone is obvious.]

Yeah, pretty much. [ She plucks the alcohol from Inanna. ]


Hey, you have any juice or soda?

[redhott]

[ Of course. Of course Inanna would come back at that exact moment to hear about his dumb, hormonal problems. AaauuugGAAHHGHHFKDFK! Horns or no, Kyle is burying his face in his hands and into his knees before eventually coming up for air. ]

How are you guys not fazed by this?? This is serious!

[pummelgranite]

[ huffffffs and just bumps their shoulders together again, unscrewing the bottle top ]


No shit. It's fucking awful.


[ And then she presses the bottle into his megagoth hands ]

[ He takes it, but he doesn't drink immediately. He's still too wrapped up in his self-pity to move on to something new. And he can't even cry properly anymore! His bright burning eyes evaporate every tear that tries to squeeze out. All that remains is a bit of steam off his cheeks.

Finally, Kyle takes a sip. It's sweet with a bit of a burn at the end. He makes a face, baring his new fangs, but he doesn't stop. ]

It's... Actually not as bad as I thought it'd be.

[purple_reign]

[Inanna hovers nearby with their arms crossed while Kyle tries the drink out, letting out a little breath when he decides it's passable.]

I did try to get something that would mask most of the bite for you. [A beat.] ...Would it be alright if I hugged you? I think you might need that more than the drink.

[redhott]

[ Kyle doesn't respond with words. He simply puts the bottle down and slowly pulls the beanie off his head. Underneath are his little black horns and his long pointed ears.

Then he opens his arms and lets Inanna come to him, looking to all the world like a miserable wet cat. ]

[That's all the invitation Inanna needs. They close the gap between them and pull Kyle into a firm, tight hug, one hand resting on the back of his head in a comforting gesture.]

[ It's the last straw for Kyle and he starts crying into Inanna's shoulder. His warmth is flooding into Inanna like the pair of them are drowning in bath water, but his are emotions are too wrecked to control the transfer. ]

I never wanted to be different. I wanted to be normal, and instead... It all just—It gets worse!

[purple_reign]

[Not much worse than hugging Ammy or Baphomet after one of their tantrums, really. They rub Kyle's back in soothing circles, resting their chin on his shoulder.]

I know. I know it's hard. ...I mean, I don't know this specifically, but I know about...wanting to be normal. Wishing for it so hard even when you know it'll never happen.

It's okay to be angry about it.

[redhott]

[ Then Kyle will selfishly take the opportunity to be angry. His grip on Inanna grows tighter as he lets all the pain and pity and frustration he hasn't had the chance to unload since coming back here. There wasn't time to wallow, but now there is. ]

[Inanna tightens their grip in return, trying to be as reassuring as they can be.]

Any time. You can call me whenever you need to be angry. Or sad. Or—anything you want to be.

Okay... [ It's sweet of Inanna to offer, but despite this rather dramatic night of wailing, he is not one to stay stuck in a rut for long. Helping others and proving to himself and others that he can defy his fate as a tool for destruction. That way he doesn't have to depend on others so much. They can depend on him.

Taking a deep breath, he loosens his grip on Inanna and leans back to grab the bottle off his coffee table. ]

Okay, let's see how this works...
